    My CZ 527 results

Finally got around to shooting my CZ with the scope, target at 70 yards.

    Lee 312-155-1R
Sized to 311 with gas check
    JPW/mineral spirits
17gr 4227 (all the store had at the time that would work)

I got a little carried away, just love shooting this thing. Basically once I got the scope sighted in, the rifle sat for 20 minutes so it would get tested with a cold barrel. If you look carefully you'll see a five shot 'group' that looks exactly like a pentagram. Everything else was just me going to town.

Wish there was some way to install the gas checks without having to use my Lee sizing die with it. Probably would tighten up the groups some.

Chris, gas checks have to be sized onto the bullet in order for them to be crimped on.

I take it the CZ is chambered for 7.62x39?

If so you should be able to use a PB boolit and run a little larger in diameter at the velocities the cartridge runs at.

So if you know someone with a lathe and a collet set up you might make a run of these and ask him to cut off the gas check shank on a dozen or so and see how they shoot as cast.

I did this with a 45-70 mold for my Contender and was very surprised with the results.

Enough so that when a 457122 HP mold hit the site I snapped that bad boy up quick! This is a plain base 45 70 HP boolit and just kicks but in the Contender pistol!

Kinda keeping an eye open for a plain base 7.62x39 mold that I might get to run 313 or 314 with.

Maybe you can try a larger sizer or beagle your mould?

Probably should have bought the 314 sizing die. That's fine, these shoot decently enough for my purposes.
