    n00b is all in

    Hello from Texas,

Been lurking for awhile and finally decided to make the plunge into the boolit casting world. I purchased some used equipment from a gentleman at work for $50.00.
    1. #45 Ideal bullet lubricator and sizer (sizing dies for 45 & 30 cal)
    2. Lyman model #61 pot
    3. Lyman/Ideal moulds w/ handles (452460, 35891 & 311407)
Also purchased some additional Lee moulds for 9, 40 & 480…………..now I just need to hoard some more WW.

Actually, you got the sizer at a low price and everything else was free! Congratulations - and welcome to the madness. It's addicting, and there is no cure except to dive in!

223PB, welcome to the forum! Around here wheel weights are getting much harder to come by. I have founds cheap lead at scrap yards, auto yards, from plumbers, roofers and indoor shooting ranges. Most of this is soft or "pure" lead. With carefull mixing of WW and soft, sometimes adding a touch of tin or linotype I can come up with an alloy pefect for handguns. For me the antimonial alloys are harder and more expensive to come by. I use the minimum antimoney as possible and water drop or heat treat to gain hardness. Any lead or lead alloy you can glum on to is valuable so get what you can asap. If we can be of any help with getting you started casting just give a holler.
