I have never had a Dillon so I can't comment on them, I have had a Pro1000 and it is a very nice press for the money. I loaded thousands of rounds on it, .357, 9mm, 44, 445SM and 45.

Currently I have a LoadMaster with all the bells and whistles, including boolit feeder, loaded 100 45's last night in about 10 minutes, wasn't trying to blaze through them, just doing some while my oldest son was loading .223's on my lee turret beside me.

Oh, if you do, please post pics! I so would love to make that my background bitmap.

Oh, wait...then you'd have to wrap the primer tubes with tape, wouldn't you? Ah well....

Not quite sure, but that may be the ONLY way to void the Dillon warranty! LOLhttp://castboolits.gunloads.com/images/smilies/custom/veryconfused.gif

really!! good thing it was only a "photoshop" type thing. otherwise if it had been real orange paint the press would of melted and he could made some hardcast boolits out of it.

I like my Lee Classic turrent press. Load up one caliber and in less than a minute I can change the turrent and load another caliber. I keep a different powder measure on each turrent. One for 45acp, one for 38 special and one for .223.
My speed is only 150-180 rnds per hour. I have no experance with the progressives though.

While I recognize that the original question concerned progressive presses, I would offer that a Lyman Turret is the best press for the money. I can set it up to reload 2 calibers, no plastic anywhere, solid, replacement parts available, good warranty beyond 2 years. For less than $200, you can set it up to prime on the press quickly and easily with no plastic parts. You can use all the press mounted tools, from priming to pocket swaging, to boolit sizing dies. If I had only one press on the bench, this would be it. A Dillon 650 can't size a boolit. It can't swage a primer pocket on the press.

Well you so very clever for pointing out a needless technicality instead of offering anything of value to the thread.
