Lord, make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to harm to me and mine. Let not my last thought be “If only I had my gun”; and Lord if today is truly the day that You call me home, let me die in a pile of brass.

I am out of town, enjoy your holidays.

    you did the right thing

    one shot, humane kill

    all one can ask.

the meat will be good, and I hope karma smiles upon you next season.

may you take one that you can call a trophy.

    made meat

    Old Hickory,
I live in NE PA. Used to rent a house on a farm several miles from where I live now.
There was a doe one year lost her right back leg about where yours was shot. We
didn't know if she was shot, hit by a car etc.. She made it through the winter that year we first saw her and come Spring she had triplets running with her. Next year
she had triplets again. Two of her fawns from the previous year also had youn ones,
twins, and a single. With her missing bottom half of her leg you knew you looking at
the same deer. Well anyways, in five years her prodigy totaled 35 deer. She always had triplets and as her young ones got more mature, they would also have triplets. I
could not believe the size of her family group in just five years. The male young ones
did not run with her group after the first year. I'm not disagreeing with your decision
to take the injured doe at all. Just letting you know what occurred where I used to live.
    358 Win
