SA grips are not hard to make. I rough them out with a jig saw and shape them with small drum sanders on a drill press. Takes about 2 hours to finish a set.
I think a Lyman/Ideal 311441 would work well. It's the best shooting light bullet in any 30cal I have. Nominal 117g.

He did like to mix and match his Win HWs. I ended up with a couple of the donors and some parts.

I'm pretty sure some of you knew and shot with Mike Patterson(KY), especially if you have shot at Friendship. Mike has left us for a better place after a long agonizing illness. I know I will miss a...

Just got back in town. The twist is 14". I have not slugged the bore or cast the chamber. I acquired the rifle with the molds from a friend who made the half round/half oct. barrel. He said it has a...

Mine is also 33-47. I have a couple of Hoch molds for it.

If you don't mind a gas check, try Ideal/Lyman 311441. The 44 1/2 is a fine rifle.

It' been fun. There's not much info on the application. I've been trying molds I have w/o having one made, some were gas checked but that really does no good except to see what will stabilize. The...

I don't think 3031 would be inappropriate for either cartridge. I'll see if I can dig up some data for Krag. Hodgdon's data site has loads for 30wcf using 3031 w/ 170g bullets.

OK My mold is a NOE 308-167fn. I suppose I have incorrectly read the description. Just take off Pope. Ask Jesse. Apparently JES does not update their website often. I called JES about...

Nope, not a baseband bullet. As I have heard/read, Pope designed the 308403 for use in the Springfield. The stop ring lets you load an almost breach seated bullet in a bolt action. That was the rumor...

I use quite a bit of HS6 in 357 and larger straight wall cases.

I too use a flat top punch on almost all bullets. It lets the bullet find the center of the sizing die.

If I want a receiver sight, I look for an old steel Lyman or Redfield. I don't care for the new aluminum ones.

It seems like a lot of fixed sight revolvers shoot to the left. Wrap your finger around the trigger further. This will cause you to pull the gun to the right.
I use a flat top punch for almost all bullets. The flat punch lets the bullet center going into the sizer. It does put a slight flat point on round nosed bullets, but that does no harm. I don't shoot...

Since it's a single shot, try heavier bullets if you have any 30cal molds that cast a little fat. I've shot Lyman 311291 with good results in a 16'' twist. I'm presently working with 165g Pope stop...

It doesn't sound like you're after a long range vernier sight, but a post type tang sight. If so, I think the Marbles are a little better than a Lyman but they do displace your thumb. If for a single...

Nice rifle! You'll need a breach seater to get the best accuracy. Much easier than loading fixed ammo.
