Now I'm puzzled. When I was at Rancho de la Golandrinas (sp), I was told that scene was filmed there.
I had to look it up, I was misinformed! Not the first time in my life.

How is Dennis getting along? I've not seen him for a few years.

That's quite a variation. Some molds just plain don't cast what they are marked as. Use a different mold that you know the cast size, and see if you alloy casts to the same diameter as expected. If...

I don't think you can find a national park that isn't crowded nowadays. Check your map, there are a lot of other great places that are similar in the southern part of the state.

You might get one of the small patch pullers. Sharpen the end a bit, and use tow or shredded rope
for cleaning.

I've had bad results in changing out springs in the past, sometimes not enough poop to pop the primer. My best solution has been to dry fire hundreds of times while sitting on my butt in the evenings.

I've seen snow every month of the year here. Two 4th of July storms, 18 inches on August 15, darn near got snowed in the Great Bear Wilderness one September.

I'm with the thinner patch/smaller ball crowd. If you need a short starter, your load is probably tighter than necessary for hunting accuracy.

The stock doesn't look all that bad. I would soak some rawhide and stitch it around weak areas, like the old ones were repaired. That way, you save the integrity of the original.

Are you working the bolt as intended on a Mauser? Treating it like a rented mule?
I've had a couple rifles I relieved the extractor cut a bit to allow easier feeding, but you pretty much have to...

Don't make the mistake of feeding them. They get too pushy if you do!

I would think at the proper heat it should work okay.
I've been making my own pike spoons for years from old tablespoons. MUCH better action than commercial spoons, and they catch lots of pike.

I use the $15 ones off Ebay, they work fine for most people. They are handy to stick in the pocket to take to gun shows.
I was surprised last summer to let a couple other gun builders and a...
