I have purchased an E. Remington & Sons Hepburn rifle in 40-65, the serial number showed it was made in late 1880 or early 1881. The ONLY original part on the gun was the receiver. It was shipped...

Forum: Black Powder Paper Patching
That is the advantage of a DDPP bullet; no sizing, no crimping and near perfect bullet alignment in the barrel. The base on this bullet is .19” long is patched to .410 and is a snug fit in case. I...

As long as you are shooting straight sided PP bullets in a chamber cut for Grease Groove bullets you are going to have to continue to taper crimp to hold the bullet in place. The carbon blow back is...

Are you using a straight sided bullet or Dual Diameter PP Bullet? If you are using a straight sided bullet are you crimping the case to hold the bullet? If so, that crimped portion is not blowing out...

Generally speaking long pointy bullets require a LOT more spin to stabilize than rounder points like the Elliptical or even the Money points.
Let us know how they work for you.

What you will find is that places like Cabelas, Dixie, and Chery's will order a large quantity in one order, and when they do Pedersoli will build them to specs they want. Thats why on a lot of...

Right now I only own 4 BPCR's, a Pedersoli, a Shiloh, a Browning, and a Hepburn. What I have found out is that once I get them dialed in the target can't tell the difference.

Just curious, is the rifle Mr. Goodman has coming a standard 18 twist? That DDPP bullet is 1.46 long I believe, that is going to be right on the edge with an 18 twist even in a 45-100? Or am I wrong?...

Do you wet the patch prior to wrapping, or do you dip the bullets after you wrap them? What benefits have you had with the Rooster Jacket over a plain dry patch? How are wiping between shots.

I know I am going to sound like a conspiracy nut, but do you guys see a pattern here? Just another approach to gun/ammo control aided by all the major carriers.
Just a thought.

My brass and bore-pigs go in a plastic jug with water (hot if I can) and Dawn, Wet Patches (just damp really) with a mixture of 1 part Pinesol, 1 part Murphy's, and 1 part Ballistol. Works for me.
