Many thanks. Great looking mobile setup!

That is a nice looking industrial setup! Well done.

Nice. What's with the chick above the switch though? :)

Excellent uses for it. Makes me wish I made mine removable. :)
But, I want to do a couple more PID projects and am dabbling in designing my own simple controller for my lube sizer.

Congrats on your decision. You won't regret it! :)

What case are you referring to? The aluminum case I used did not require any modification. It slipped right into the opening made for it.
Forum: Casting Equipment
hasn't happened without some pics! ;)
Forum: Casting Equipment
Yes. Just make sure it has the temperature range you need. It may cost a little more but it will also be more sensitive.
Forum: Casting Equipment
Anywhere that it will not interfere with anything else around it and where you want the temperature to be monitored.
From looking at pictures, it looks like the base is of adequate thickness. ...

If you are willing/able to drill and tap a small 1/4-20 tpi hole in your lube sizer, you could use their 1/2" probe.

Yes, that would work as the PID; however, it isn't specific on the ratings of the thermocouple included. You also still need to get an SSR.
If the thermocouple is the same one listed here:...

That would be a good project for me in the future....but I think I'll try building my own PID controller next time. After all, the controllers we use typically only need to adjust temperature once...

Holy ****! That is one beefy unit! I'd have to do an electrical upgrade at my house o run that thing at capacity! LOL
Great job. Very professional looking. I'd like to see photos of it hooked...
Forum: Casting Equipment
Yeah, I figured as much since you had minimums to order.
I can only do 2 layer boards....no solder mask...no silk screening...no plated through holes. Makes it harder to do layouts and solder...

Nice! I'm sure you'll get some interest in this. If I didn't recently start etching my own boards again, I'd take you up on it. :)

This is my understanding of these:
SSR's or Solid State Relays have the advantage over mechanical relays when there is a lot of switching as in a PID setup. SSR's have no moving parts. A...

wow....very professional looking! :D

Good to see everyone's PID projects getting completed.
Nice pics Walter. You have the PID very well protected and a good, stout temp probe holder. Much better than my coat hanger.
Roy, good...

I'm now at 5200 reloads in my LNL. Added a bullet feeder to my setup and now this is the loudest component of the setup. I wish it has a shutoff switch when the tube filled up, but it does not so...

Are those deer legs hanging on the wall there? Something to gnaw on during reloading sessions? ;)

It's worked very well for me as well. Only issue I had was maintaining an accurate temperature. But, add a PID controller to it and it takes care of temperature for you. I can now cast with two...

In my setup, I wired it up, plugged it in and was good to go. Only setting I changed was enabling the manual mode.
If you notice the temperature isn't being maintained as accurately as you would...

This is what I purchased. Ships from Grainger but costs a little less oddly enough.
