I routinely run 10.0 grains of unique as my 240-260gr 44 load for anything in the lower 48.

Don’t over think this. Deer are not that hard to kill. Cast or jacketed will do the trick, if you put the bullet where it’s supposed to go.

Hold the nostalgia and pass me a 44Mag. There is no substitute for cubic inches. In terms that are easier to understand, you can make a 44 Mag a special, but you can’t make a Special into a mag.
