If you have ever used a tape recorder much you probably have a degaussing tool. Just plug it in and wave the tip over the outside of the powder bottle and it should remove all the magnetism.

All my loads are in magnum brass. If my powder charge is less than 50% of capacity I usually deep seat the bullets over the shoulder or the ogive, depending on the bullet.
Longshot is another very nice powder for the 210-215 gr. SWCs. Very accurate and shootable in the 1050-1100 fps range.
David Gentry customized Mark X action 35 Whelen AI, 1 in 14 twist cut-rifled barrel @ 24 inches. After shooting at least half a dozen different bullets from 200 to 275 grains, I settled on the 250...
Using a commercial coated 240 SWC I've had great accuracy with the following loads, all well below maximum for the 44 mag:
8.5 gr of Herco @ 975 fps
8.5 gr of N330 @ 1,000 fps
9.5 gr of N340...
With jacketed bullets it is less necessary to match bullet diameter to bore diameter-- your .430" jacketed bullets will shoot fine.

Deep-seat the bullets (like the one on the left) to roll crimp on the ogive of the bullet over 9 gr. of Longshot for about 900 fps.
I ran some loads through Gordon's Reloading Tool and came up with these loads for the Hornady 350 gr. RN and each of your powders @ 28 kpsi.
IMR-4198 . . . 43.0 gr. gives 1925 fps
Alliant R7 . ....
Do you have a chronograph? If so, start with 10 gr. of Blue Dot and work down to your subsonic velocity.
Not ideal for colder weather, but should be OK otherwise.
Yeeesh, I've never heard of a gap that large. Next time get a BFR . . . they run around .003-.004" barrel to cylinder and have the free-spin pawl (nice feature!).
Cowboy, some advocate a standard primer with HS6 saying it is more accurate, and you only need the magnum in cold weather. I agree with you, and use either the CCI 350 or the Federal 155 with...
Gordon's Reloading Tool shows 11.0 gr of Unique right at 36 kpsi for 1035 fps from your 5½" barrel. 15.0 gr of HS6 shows 1145 fps at the same pressure, over 100 fps more velocity. I have found HS6...
If you can give us an OAL of the bullet, and the length from base to the bottom crimp groove, we can give you some decent approximations. Longshot or HS6 would be excellent choices for powders.
I think the most gun for the money in a hunting revolver is the BFR. I have one in 454 Casull, but 44 mag would work just as well for all but the largest (and most dangerous) game. Mine has an...
Not sure it'll be any easier to find, but HS7 is the same powder as Win 571, so data for it could be used.
I have tried it for target loads in 44 mag and 45 Colt. It's very bulky and with a fast burn rate is similar to Red Dot or 700X. 4.5 to 5.0 grains under a 215 to 250 grain bullet in either...
I get good accuracy using the GT Bullets 240 Keith @ 1.675" OAL over 10.8 gr. of HS6 with Federal 155 mag primer for about 1150 fps in my 4-5/8" Blackhawk. Haven't tried Universal or 2400.
I never had a Python as the wildly flared grips never fit my hand. I was fortunate enough to have handled a couple early ones, and they were just so darn smooth, but I have no idea how accurate they...
Thanks, Doug, yes it was cylinder throats I was referring to.
I have had two revolvers, one in 44 mag and the other in 45 Colt, with enlarged forcing cones. Both were .004" larger than bullet diameter, and both shot noticeably larger groups than others with...
For such a light recoiling cartridge the roll crimp on the bullet seating die will be more than sufficient.
