I'm not gonna try an say I know about solder and roofing...But I do have a bunch of experience (hobby and career) with solder. Before you get too far into collecting a bunch of solder ingredients to...

I'm not sure this 'exactly' applies here, but here is a couple comments I had on a thread talking about something like this.
Forum: Leverguns
Both Henry and Marlin have 1:20 on current production
Forum: Leverguns
Henry BBS with 20" barrel 7.0 lbs
Marlin 1894 with 20" barrel 6.4 lbs
both can hold 10 rds of ammo, adding about 0.5 lb
weight difference...seems close enough for rock n roll.

You jiggled my memory a little bit and reminded me of the wave soldering machine I operated. This may or may not be pertinent, but I'll share it anyway.
63/37 solder melts at 361ºF
we would start...

I made a batch of 45-45-10 in 2012, still have half of that remaining.
I also made BLL.
My general practice is to coat with 45-45-10, size boolits, then coat with BLL.
This reduces the carnauba on...

"I'm not sure why he suggested to use vintage checks, as far as I know the check shank diameter hasn't changed."
My experience has been, older Lyman molds (and Ideal marked molds), it usually...

Today's Lyman's are copper and made by Hornady.
If your Lyman 429244 mold is an old one, you might want to look for some vintage Lyman brass GCs.

I wonder if H4831 is too slow to reach max velocities in the 416 Ruger?
I spend a couple minutes looking for published data and seen only powders that were faster...maybe has to do with a case...

I don't understand what you are saying?
your alloy with Lino added...leading went away.
then you say, your harder lead grew and they leaded more?
Lube almost never has anything to do with lead...
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I will tell you all a little story. First off, I started casting in 2010 and never really melted lead or lead alloy before that (at home). In the 1980s, I worked for an electronics PCB assembly...

MOA,
What a simple and strong design. If a fella wanted to have a side gig making ingots, all you'd need besides this, is some 5 lb ingot molds and a 5 lb ladle.
Nice photos.

While I have not used a Lee auto bench prime tool, assuming it's the tool in the link below, most times people have found hints, tips, tricks to making a Lee product work better. So many have...

I don't understand what all you are saying?
.
But, in regards to your last sentence, I need to ask, have you experienced zinc contaminated COWW alloy that many people, including myself, have...
From everything you said, especially what I've highlighted...I have to assume your mold is getting colder than usual for some reason, ambient room temp? or breeze? or something else.

OR...maybe...

I suspect it isn't.
But what you want for fluxing is carbon. Fine powder saw dust turns into carbon faster than flakes. It's easy to make your own fine powder saw dust. BUT YES...CFF does work, but...

Good Cheer,
while you are filing that tidbit away, be sure to file away the thought that Barrel manufacturers don't polish the inside of their barrels. They leave them in a certain condition, to...
Forum: Boolit Lube !
Carnauba wax, you need to ask yourself, what does it do as a boolit lube ingredient?
I'm not saying it is "detrimental" or does "bad things"
I'm saying, what it does, I don't want.
Forum: Boolit Lube !
Most liquid car wax has polishing compound or other light abrasive.
Are you wanting to Lap/polish your bore?

I was given a baggie of pure Carnauba flakes from another member when I was doing...

I like COWW.
so, 3 to 1 (Balls to Lino)
Will give you equivalent to COWW (1-3-96)

Last month, I had my 80+ yr old detached 2 stall garage roof shingled. It's steep and high roof, as it has a walkup attic. It also have small hip roof corners that match the large hip roof on the...
I had a Hi Point 4095.
Mostly, I loaded DIY swaged bullets as well as some Lee cast boolits, 175gr sized to .401
My Hi Point had a tight barrel, I bet you could use .400 and they'll do just fine....
