I use the Lee 55gr with a gas check, powdercoated and sized to .225 23.0 gr. Of win 748 with 2.100 col. Thanks to Elvis ammo it works for me.
It groups very well.

What load are you using?

Perfect timing! I'm casting Lee .225 55gr. PCing and gcing I'm looking to go 300 yards.
I would prefer to use H335 but, I'm asking for some guidance here......for my AR 16'' 1-7

I cast in my basement with no to little ventilation. Clean lead
BUT I SMELT IN MY GARAGE WITH PLENTY OF VENTILATION!!!!
I will sweep the area clean rather than vacuum, but I mist the
area to keep...

I use half pint mason jars......I label the lid with a sharpie.....

Are you just pc'ing or are you using gas checks also. I'm very interested
in this, as I have a 1/7 twist and I'm considering cast and pc only.

I would prefer to just powdercoat, if possible. Hoping for more guys to chime in. In my original post I was referring to aluminum moulds. I understand brass moulds transfer heat more slowly.

It seems, from what I've read that casting for smaller calibers can be problematic.....
keeping mould temp up for a number of reasons, aluminum moulds at the top of the list.....what if you were to...

I'm new to this........but, I tried the Harbor Freight red dry tumble and it worked for me. I baked in my little cheapo toaster oven that I use for Kydex but I noticed the oven just gets a little...

What about using layers of fabric? Old T-shirts, Flannel, Denim......layer upon layer, sort of like layers of fiberglass. You could compress the fabric between two sheets of plywood or your choice....
