Use lead, not jacketed. The lead conforms to the rifling better and can be shot with much less pressure.

You're over thinking it. Just roll with enough force to embed the grit and wipe off the excess.

As been mentioned, .44 leverevolution and practice.
It's really no different than doping a 100 yard target with a .22LR
The other alternative is a small FFP scope with a MIL or MOA doping...

Call them up and tell them your tale of woe, dollars to doughnuts they send you a new one gratis.
They have come through for me after losing various bits and bobs through a couple of moves.

Can be done easily in a lathe with a 4 jaw chuck and boring tools.
Don't waste your time with a drill press. Not rigid enough.
Could be done on a mill with more time and effort than the lathe, but...

There's no need to be restrictive, should you chose to "fix' this.
My 94 in 44Mag will feed anything from extra long 44mags with 320 grain bullets to .44 russian wad cutters.
Its all in the...

Putting the radius on the cam, can cause the Marlin Jam. Be prepared to follow the fix for the Dread Marlin Jam I published some years ago.

In one pound ingots loaded in 50# wooden chests the same size as .30cal ammo cans.
1000 #'s or so like that. And then 500# or so of pure Pb as 1.25# ingots in old russian ammo crates and 300# of...

I have definitely learned my lesson on trusting a printed or internet source, that won't happen again.
I measured the ingots with the XrF machine.

I did some reading and some more testing, with a different operator, same XrF unit. I made sure to clean an area of the ingots with a file to insure a fresh surface. Its a portable XrF unit...

It throws a .380 bullet 135 grains. Is this for BP pistol? it seems terribly light for .38-55.

Do you have a drill press and valve lapping compound.
Get a piece of 5/16 brass rod (.3125) and make a lap. It will prevent you from making the hole hourglass shaped.

Just a suggestion, don't get too close to that 16" min. Arguing over .020 with a guy using a sharpie and tape measure is going to go poorly. We like to keep them at +.2 min.
