I'm with Hick, hard to beat apeture sites. My Ruger 45 Colt became the most accurate big revolver I own when installing these sites and wearing my distance glasses. For me, progressive lenses work...

Forum: Cast Boolits
Why not chamber your cast bullet and case to find out? Many old Win will take a .002 over dia bullet with ease so try one first and if it won't chamber get another mold. I shoot .380 cast in my...
Forum: Case Forming / Re-forming
To point; once sized down and trimmed you will have case necks that are pretty thick. Turning them is another process made easy with correct tools. All my varmint brass is turned plus my rifles all...

15 meter is correct but you MUST anneal brass maybe more than once. I made many 17 and 20 cases from 223 to both 221-FB, 20-VarTarg, 20 Duster, 19-Duster, and 17 Mach4; also made hundreds and...
These posts are great, thanks for the thoughts. my gun likes .431 boolits but i should measure the throats, see if honing might be needed. I do get a flyer often so maybe one hole is off. Not a big...
Surely the 696 has been beat to death here but not much decussion of late so, I'd like to ask those who have one of these revolvers to respond, tell us what you really think after owning one and, do...

My all time favorite rifle, the old winchester 1886! Having loaded for all 11 commerical chamberings, the 40-82 is my favorite to shoot.

Never saw the point in banning anyone from a website. Give them some time off to reflect their sins, but banning is just not right. Don't we all try and behave, follow rules and such although never...

My current trapdoor is the model 1884 rifle; it gets the Lee 405HB boolit with Unique, 5744 an occasional few loads of black powder. One of the most enjoyable rifles to shoot IMO- I had to raise the...

Have shipped many guns both fedex and USPS. Never had any FFL holder refuse shipping a gun, yes they charge a fee but that is their business.
Here is my method of avoiding rings marks; 100% results.
I take all my rings when new, or if buying them used at the guns show, and using steel wool, I rub all the interior serfaces well, all...

Most all responses will likley be positive as the Foester is a very good press.
I had this press for a very long time, they are a good press too but not perfect IMO as all presses have some...

Bluebook is for gun stores IMO- seldom works that well for buyers. never thought a book could fairly tell me a guns value, even one in lessor condition as prices is all about desireabliity and what...
Forum: Factory & Surplus Powder
In my stash of powder there is one 8 pound jug of 296, also 2 big jugs of H110; I have no use for either and why I bought them is still unknown, just to slow for anything but 44 mag and other mag...

Having owned several 39 and 39a Marlins they are very well made guns; but keep in mind all are used and for many years now so, when looking for one, I'd suggest the best condition one you can find...
1 and 1/2 hours and it is all gone; poor business IMO- if they are making 32-20, going through the process of set up and all it takes, then why not make 100,000 or 5 times that? seems odd to make...
I disagree. Poor gap clearance has been an issue with revolvers since they were invented and why 1000's of guns have been fixed for this problem. I know of no compensation for large cylinder gaps...
Ruger sends out plenty of guns that are ok, also plenty that are not, then it's the buyer's loss and or job to get it right and that's a shame as Ruger should be upgreading their QC catching issues...
Happy this worked out to the OP's satifaction although I could not except .011 gap. I will never understand why Ruger sends out guns with large throats, wide cylinder gaps and crooked backstraps....

Work up loads for each bullet weight, type and both jacketed and lead. Start low and work up to safe pressures for each. Jacketed bullets create more resistance so pressures rise somewhat. Remember,...
