I cut them with my 28 ton log splitter. Worked okay but I will try a different method next time as the lead is very hard and almost felt like it was going to shatter!

The end of auctions, rummage sales and estate sales are often worth hanging around until the official end. Most folks leave early and if the weather is bad the deals can really be had!

Yep. Just melted a few yesterday. Cut them up into smaller pieces with my 30 ton wood splitter. Made a loud crack when they cut/broke. Definitely a lot harder than lead pipe!

Not in the reloading room but I did melt down wheel weights and ended up with 96-two pound ingots. Still have a pile of pure lead, range scrap and linotype to melt into ingots in the next month.
