I once loved the Lee FCD. It fixed all my reloads that didn't chamber. Then, I stopped using the FCD after a commercial bullet caster named Dardas explained to me that the FCD was swaging the bullets...

Looking for the above listed bullets you might have tested and didn't work for you. I might consider .308 Sierra bullets of around the same weight.
I have the following: Sierra 7-168 SMK, Hornady...

I get impatient sometimes and if the graphite doesn't release the lead bullet, the next time I take a propane torch and make sure the hp pin is heated.
35 Rem makes a good point I forgot. I first add heat to my mold with a propane torch. Then, I put the edge of my mold into the molten lead as 35 Rem said to test it. Until that molten lead doesn't...

I've read that the proper temperature for your lead alloy is to melt the lead in your pot, turn the thermostat down in increments, and watch until it begins to solidify. Measure the lead temperature....
My suggestion is to save your money and practice with the Lee .38-148WC mold. My test groups are the size of my cylinder at 25 yards. Use your money to buy what Lee doesn't offer like a hollow point...
I own Lee and I own MP Molds. Lee molds are like Lee Reloading equipment. Lee Products are for the "budget-minded" reloader and caster. They work. For the money, you cannot beat a Lee 6-Cavity mold....
Thanks for your replies. I gave up on the bullets and will give it to my friend who the bullets are for. He will resize and Alox them.

I noticed on my Lee Pot that if I fill it to the rim, It flows too fast on the bottom and the top barely remains liquid and cannot melt the lead. Only 3/4 full does it function better.
I noticed...

I've noticed that if my Lee 6 Cavity mold sticks and doesn't close well, I can tap the part of the handle that connects to the mold and the parts will align.
I've noticed that a hot plate helps...
Do I size my cast 138-148WC bullets with a Lee bullet sizer before adding Alox? Should i let my cast bullets sit for a few hours after casting or cast right away.

I use range scrap and this is what I do. First, I use a frying ladle to sift out some loose dirt and pour the remaining wood from the shattered target frame and bullet lead bullets/pieces into a...

P Flados mentioned how good AA5 is for 38 Specials, AA7 has been mentioned. I've found Blue Dot as a good powder for .357 loads and Blue Dot is close to AA7. AA9 and 2400 is good for .357 loads. Has...

maybe a Good and Plenty box would be a good container for select bullets in this color. All Bright Red bullets would be good for Hot Tomales

Don't cast bullets look like a work of art?

I've read good reports about HS6 but use AA5 for my .38SP loads instead and have decent accuracy using it. I've reloaded an accurate .38 special load with 135gr Gold Dot and shot it through my 6" S&W...

Someone needs to market a pencil sharpener type tool to shave off the base of cast bullet so it'll take a gas check.

When shooting gets expensive, I shoot testloads. I shoot less ammo and spend less. For HP rifles, I plan to shoot cast boolits with a medium slow pistol powder like 2400. Than .22lr, I shoot my bow...

I don't shoot often and accumulated enough lead to last me past my able years in retirement. After then, I could shoot air rifles and pellets.

I use a hot plate to heat my aluminum and brass molds up to temperature. If there is time, I'd dip an edge of the molten lead or put my propane torch to add temperature. Afterwards, I'll pour lead...
