I bought harbor freight powder first because it was local and available. The difference in quality is very noticable between it and what i now buy from a vendor on this forum

Harbor Freight powder is a poor choice for shake and bake. I use their white but only mixed with other better powder.

3 or 4 years ago I bought a cardboard 8 # cannister of red dot. I was curious when Hercules stopped selling powder in cardboard containers.

Earlier this week I cut some 3/8 inch sheet lead with an ax. Worked pretty good as long as you are acccurate with swinging the ax. Thinner sheets I used a hatchet.

All bullets were loaded with 14.0 grains of 4227 and Wolf Pistol primers fired from Ruger #1 30/30 . Range conditions 20 degrees sunny 5 mph south wind.

It was exceptionally bad both with and without gas checks.

Check back tomorrow and if weather allows I will test the saeco 316 sized with and without gas check...
