I've heard (never tried) using antimony, never tin, to harden lead is doable. Have you tried bonding? Never tried that, either. I've taken my swaged 37 gr 223s just past 4250 fps with my 1-12 twist...

I've taken my 22LR jacketed 40 grain bullets past 4100 fps with my 1-12 twist 22-250. Rpms kill bullets, not speed. If the quality of your bullets is good, I rather doubt you could push 'em fast...

Spin is the bullet killer. I've taken my .224s well past 4100 fps but that was in a 1-12" twist, that's only 246k rpm. Failure occurs at about 320k rpm with my .224s and 22LR jackets.

Hickory, I've had my 22LR jacketed bullets (40 grainer) past 4200 fps, but that was in a 1-12" twist. That's only 252K rpm. Somewhere near 320K rpm seems to be the limit for my 22LR jacketed bullets....

Thank you. The bullets in my previous comment are .224". Boat tail length is also adjustable. Those pictured are at near max length. I do treat my PF die punch for the boat tails with kid gloves.
