Charlie and me have been talking about this non-fire issue for a while now. I have been having problems with Contact and Semi-Auto benchrest this year in the Savage MkII. With some batting around...

Charlie one of the members sent this design back in my build thread. This is a really good design, wished we both saw this before we built ours. This is one of those things you just look at what...

Jim these traps can be both vertical and horizontal. I went horizontal to keep the elements and contamination out.
Now Jerry Miculek runs a horizontal trap, here's a video

To tell you the truth I wasn’t sure I’d get involved again because of others without the facts and chimed in with negativity. So with that aside, I did do some test rounds into the trap before...

Hi Don, I realized after I put the pictures in that you could see the farm house behind. And guys are focused on that, and when I stand in line from the bench to the backstop I’m looking into the...

I know the camera is angle deceiving, everything is line to the middle of the farm field. I know when people look they don’t think it’s a safe direction from the angle. When seated at the bench...

I can go out to 70 yards, that's all the room I had, and I do have a tuner on. That was the Savage MKII build I did last year

Hi James, now could you bolt some angle steel in the corners to cover the gaps?

Finally had the chance to make the end caps for the tube, it’s held together with a 1/4" thru threaded rod

I'm sure if you had a light wind day you could get .5 at the fifty

Thanks Martin, now I like that ferris wheel design. It looks a lot simpler than what I did, if I saw that when I was looking I may have gone that route.

Don I weighed it yesterday and it was 120 lbs plus it will be mounted in the back stop. So yours has more portability, how is that PCP going anyway?

Thanks Frank, this is going to work out very well for me. Just need springtime to show up. Did run some rounds thru it and didn't get any ringing sound from it, that's what I was hoping for

So if I put some ingot molds in the tube they come out as bars, learn something new everyday (hehe)

Thanks Don, it'll be a pleasure not replacing boards this coming season.

Yes the targets are hung correctly, this is a horizontal collector tube style. As far as the end caps, I am making them now. Now if you look at Jerry Miculek’s bullet trap he also uses a horizontal...

Thanks James. just got a chance to weigh it today. That small trap came in at 120 lbs, can't wait till spring.

I do have a deflection plate in the swirl chamber, it was longer but powdered the bullet. I cut it down at made small and now the lead is staying together much better
