I have two Blackhawks in 41 mag. Love them. A New Model 4 5/8" and an Old model 6.5". Been keeping an eye open for an early model S&W 57 at a decent price.

After reading all of your posts. I think I will just stick with the blackhawks that I have (2X 41 mag, 30 Carbine) and keep them separate from my Bobcat Contender. I did forget about the set back but...

I haven't been to a gun show in a while. Got tired of the inflated pricing. I'll have to check one out soon.

Is there a specific time of year that the major manufactures run these calibers? Primarily keeping an eye out for new brass.
I already have the dies for the Bobcat so the b&d doesn't appeal to me now. I did look up the difference a while back but cannot remember the exact differences between the two
You are right. I do remember reading that. I would probably not move forward if it required the rings. Thanks
Didn’t think about that. Great suggestion!! I will more than likely go with that.
Tatume - Appreciate the info but I am really looking for the 357/44 Bobcat chambering. Already have a bunch of loaded rounds and dies to continue loading for it.
I can send a chamber casting and a dummy round of what I am looking for.
Good morning. I posted a while back that I incidentally found a Thompson Center Contender Barrel converted to 357/44 Bobcat. This barrel came with a set of dies and did not require the teflon/plastic...

Good morning all. I am pretty sure this is the correct area for this but I am just curious if there are any neighbors on here who purchased land on the High Lonesome Ranch in Texas?
Heading down...

Haven't pulled out the contenders in a while. I am now on a lever gun kick. Ended up giving one of my contenders to my son (7mm TCU) for his Birthday last year. Of course I had to give him a...

Will you take your 35 over the 444 hunting? just curious. I keep going back and forth on it?
Forum: Leverguns
I haven't started loading for the 35 as of yet. I lucked out and found some ammo so I am going to concentrate on the 444 then move to the 35 after I have a few loads that I like made up.

Yes, I used to go to one of those two lakes almost every weekend growing up. Only lived about 10 minutes from there.

I have done this with 10mm in a revolver but I am new to cast in rifles. What is your go to load for the 35 rem? Just picked one of those up too. Loving the levers. Now I need one of each flavor

Don't like them either. It's sad to see the 30-60 year old Marlins on Gunbroker all tacticooled up. I get it if they were restored from a house fire or something..... actually nope. Still don't like...

I have heard from a few people that the 240's are pretty good since I have posted this. You're not too far from where I grew up. Ever been to Eatonville?

Found this website after reading all of your posts. Looks like they make molds specifically for the 444. Have any of you ordered/used these molds?

I have the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook (4th Edition) but it only gives you loads for a 210 and 240g cast bullet. Everything I have read has stated that this rifle is best in the 260g - 330g range. I...

Thank you all for the info. Exactly what I was looking for.

What do y’all typically do if you use jacketed data on cast bullets? Reduce 5-10%
All my books have data for jacketed. Just not cast
