The plot thickens:
I haven't heard from Gracey yet. Perhaps Dakota made a small error writing my email address that was given over the phone. I'll give them a few more days & follow up if I don't...

garandrus & country gent,
Thanks for the information. I had written a response earlier today. but when I finished we had tornado warnings & we lost our Wi-Fi connection (we're on a dish) & my...

I bought a Gracey "Match Prep" trimmer back in '06 or'07 when I was shooting XTC. It was set up for .223. I trimmed a zillion cases with it (my 2 sons trimmed theirs on it also). I'm aware that most...

Prior to the Green Machine I was a RCBS guy. I had so much confidence in them that I believed the BS in the gun mags (even the IHMSA gave it a glowing report). That was an important lesson for me. ...

Thanks for clearing up that question.

Pirate69, oldblinddog & Adam Helmer,
Many thanks for your response. My post went unanswered for so long that I failed to check my own thread for information. Each one of you have helped me...

I'm a member there with very few posts. I'm only interested in the old Mossbergs & 5-teen Remingtons. They have a few members that I consider experts on the Mossbergs & 2 in particular are very...

This may have been mentioned and I missed it: anyway if it has ,it bears repeating.

Forum: Cast Boolits
In the '90's I was shooting IPSC & decided having fun was the most important goal. Being basically a wheel gun guy, I went at it with a 4" 25-5 with 230RN cast boolits and a 6" 686 with Lee 150RN...
I shot IHMSA in the early to mid 80's with a 10.5" Ruger Super Blackhawk. The "Standing" class was my favorite. The Lyman 429421 cast boolit over 10.0 gr. of Unique worked well for me & was popular...
I have a full set of IHMSA center fire chickens & pigs + a full set of rimfire everything. I also have my own range with 50,100 & 200 yd. firing points.
My days of competing with my old shooting...
That is my favorite mold. Mine is an 8 cav. & marked "359-130". With COWW they drop @ 135. I bought another one (still in the box) in the event it wears out before I do (I'm 84). The 2nd. one is...

Congratulations on your 512. I gifted mine to a son-in-law, but I kept the 512P. All of those 500 teen rifles are accurate.

A second look convinces me that #4 & #5 are TC .54 cal.
#4 by appearance of the cavity & #5 by stamping on the mold.
#4 & 5 = a Thompson Center Maxi-ball. None of my TC molds have the TC name. I believe the .54 was 420 gr. (could be wrong) & the .50 was 370 gr. (pretty sure that is correct).
My .50 cal. has #906...

I've been reloading since '59 & began casting shortly thereafter. 99.5% has been with handgun calibers. The exception being .38-40 for a '73 (cast) & the Lee 457-405F for my #3 in .45-70. The .38-40...

My #441 is pre-Redding that I bought from Paul Jones in the '80's.
I looked & all I have available are in loaded rounds marked "250 gr." (I need to cast some more).
I also have a 4 cav. Lyman...
