I'd still enjoy reading those two editions of Precision Shooting should anyone wish to tell me which editions the articles appeared in.

The W.H.B. Smith Classic Book of Pistols and Revolvers, seventh edition, 1968, published by Castle Books by arrangement with Stackpole Books. 816 pages, Dust jacket states, “Handguns of the world-...
This old wildcat fascinates me to the point where I am considering having a .30-30 rifle bored and chambered for it. I see the cartridge as a real winner for cast bullets. That might be wishful...

I smelt with a Dutch oven over a propane turkey cooker. This works fine for smelling but it's overkill for casting - too much furnace even when turned down low. Also I find it difficult to control...
Am I asking for trouble with the bullets being up to 0.0015" over ball end?
JimB suggests not. Any other opinions on the original question?
I'd like to shoot some 190-grain Flat Nose cast pills in my S&W 10-5. This will be slow (under 800 fps) and the bullet alloy is quite soft - scrap lead with a few COWW added - dents by fingernail...

Non-functioning, derelict Lyman Mould Master lead pot. Model 61 from the 1950's.
The electricals are shot - I don't know what the problem is - won't heat. Even if you are successful in getting...

I'd like to own such a shotgun and wonder if any of the lower-priced, imported .410 doubles are dependable and worth owning?
Stoeger has one but I recall hearing negative comments about them.

This was the traditional 200-grain projectile for the .35 Remington rifle. I believe it has been used successfully in other .35 caliber rifles as well. Double-cavity, cast iron. Bullet is a...

Danny,
Thanks for your offer. I am interested in heavy bullet weights - in the range of 170 grains up to 200 grains. I have numerous other sources of information on this subject (print as well as...

Thanks relics. I was set to acquire all 2013 issues but would first like to learn if there were others from that year that contain articles dealing with heavy .38 Special loads.

I see the recent post about pack-ratting this magazine.
Read recently that an issue (or issues) from early to mid 2013 contains information on loading heavy cast bullets for the .38 Special.
If...
Ed, I believe that's the source of information on which the Castboolits thread is base. My foggy memory relays an even foggier message about changes in Lyman products that might have included...
Nice work 112. No lathe here. At one time, I did fashion an expander from a bolt, using a drill press and mill file. The results were - shall we say - "primitive."
I see these advertised as Part # LY7341801 but none of the sellers nor Lyman give the two diameters of the expander plug.
There's a chart kicking around somewhere on this website that gives...
