I used some small rat tail files. An old Chinese set I bought decades
ago and still haven't worn out. VERY light pressure, almost just letting
the file do it's stuff under it's own weight.

Thought I would post some pictures of a new LEE six holer I just received from Midway USA.
Only took me a few minutes to get the mold cleaned up and it dropped bullets like a dream after warming...

I cut up and smelted some nuke plant stuff for a
neighbor. Big sheets and plates..... I used an axe. Went fast!

I hope you don't mind..... I placed a link to
'casting fellows' on my Carteach0 site.
Excellent info which I plan to read all morning!

Looks like my 1916 Spanish Mauser
Fun little rifle, and accurate with cast boolits.
Does it have a strange crossed thingie of a crest on it, maybe faint?
Does the bolt hold open on an empty...

On the RARE occasions I answer the only 'listed' unlisted number in our home, if
it's anybody I don't know they all get hit with the same question.

That is the single best story I have heard in many a long day.
Excellent sir, excellent!
You have sown seeds that will bear for a lifetime.

I have also seen the 'no firearms allowed' signs at times. They didn't last long when buisness fell off amid Ex-customers comments.

I shoot wheel weight with some extra tin added by way of 60/40 solder.
Both air dropped and water dropped. These .313" bullets I have always
water dropped, but I think I will try air dropping for...

I have a Mosin M44 whose bore I have slugged. I mic'ed groove to groove at .315".
The rifleing is strong, with a fair bit of throat errosion.
The closest bullet I can cast is a 186 grain .313...

Not having a lathe to play with, I had to go another path.
My LEE 7.62x54 sizing die does exactly what you have noticed, along with leaving nasty scratches on the case. Not having spare funds right...

Standing. If I decide I need to MOVE, I want to do it NOW.
My reaction time has saved my butt (and my eyes) a few times while working on cars. Twice batteries blew up right in my face and I came...

Mag_01, I'll try that load and see what happens. I haven't gotten around

I have refinished the stock on one of my 91/30's. A 1944 Tula ex-sniper in rearsonaled laminate furniture. While doing so I looked closely at the barrel channel.

Bought mine used on E-bay for $28+shipping, with a die.
Had it set up and running 20 minutes after finding it on my doorstep.
Lots of them there.

I am trying to find a cast boolit load that all my Mosins will shoot well. One down...... My Tula Ex-sniper put this load into a bit over an inch at 50 yards. I think it would be better if *I*...

Do NOT turn the die in deeper. That will not size it smaller.
It WILL break the blasted collet in the die.....
Been there, done that.
Sigh.

I have a 7.62x54R case sizing die thats squeezing my necks

I think I need to open it up a...

Buckshot,
That Finn mosin is likely worth $2-300 right now. Nice gain on $40!
I tried paper patching once, on a 45/70 H+R. I can frustrate myself
MUCH easier than that!

Have to pass on both for now.

Among what I load for is a 7.62x54 Mosin M44. My 91/30's shoot pretty nice
but this M44 is more like a shot gun that a rifle.
I slugged the bore this evening.

I've got a whole $2 tied up in my Electronic Bore Cleaner rig. It's less expensive than decent copper solvent. Read up on SurplusRifle.com for directions on how to make
them.
