I too have found the powder in surplus 54R ammo to be CLOSE to 4895. Not exact, but close.

As stated above, if using it in the same cartridge with a lighter projectile, you should be fine.

I owned an XD 9 Tactical for a few years. .356" boolits hit the target sideways. I found true happiness when I started sizing boolits .357". VERY ACCURATE. I won a lotta IDPA matches with it. YMMV

I use 4320 quite a bit in 8X57mm. Mostly with 175-200gr jWord bullets.

Great accuracy, velocity right up there with what the cartridge is capable of.

I really like 4320.

FWIW I use Nobel Sport primers. Same size as 209s, use W209 data and MUCH cheaper than any other type available around here.
