What the others have said about Clays not being ideal here is true. If you don't have one of the slower pistol powders like 2400, Unique or 4227 I would opt for a starting load of IMR-4198 or 3031. ...

This guy carries an LCR in .327 and has done quite a bit of testing with all of the .32 rounds. I am pretty impressed with how well the .32 S&W Long...

I agree with that. You can buy 325 @ 1300fps but why do that with the .480 when I can do the same thing with my .45 Colt. I too don't see much use for a .480 that weighs less than 375-400.

My first carry gun was the same 3" SP 101. I used some form of 158 grain factory loads but can't remember which. The gun shot right to POA with the 158s, not even close with 125s. I haven't...

Just realized how old this thread was. Nice bolt action BTW! I have wanted to find a nice bolt in a .30-30. I have heard that magazine length pretty well restricts you to loading flat point...

I don't have any first hand knowledge for you but I did read an article somewhere where a guy was comparing velocities between 26" .30-30 and a 20" .30-30 AI rifles. In all the loads he listed he...

First of all this is a terrible thought! I voted .30-30 as a do it all cartridge that I wouldn't be too unhappy with. The .357 Magnum would maybe make a better choice as it will allow you to have a...

Another way to buy your lead would be to buy a bag of Magnum shot. If you buy sizes that don't sell real well just after waterfowl season you can pick it up rather cheap. Magnum shot has more...
