We have giant murders of them up my way, 1000s flying to roost at sunset. We have spring and fall seasons but I doubt anyone hunts them.
I cannot shoot a decent group with a handgun from a bench, I use a braced standing position when working up loads. I start at 10 Yards and shoot one round and then shoot the rest at the bullet hole....

I'm using a MP mold 158 grain HP Keith bullet with a +p charge of HS 6, I get 985 FPS out of a 4" model 15.
Unique and 2400 should be fine with a standard primer, 296 requires a magnum primer. That 90303 is a good bullet and I've shot a bunch of them.

Look into the processed wood logs, they are basically an oversized wood pellet that come in boxes by the pallet. I’ve never used them in a woodstove but did burn some in a campfire. They seem like a...

I have a bunch of mixed head stamped military cases. PM if you’re interested.

I don’t have a specific load to recommend but a 300-405 grain bullet at trapdoor velocity should work well here. About 1200 fps.
Forum: Factory & Surplus Powder
When John Ross posted here he advocated rifle powders in the 500 smith and Wesson and stated that you could load to the base of the bullet and have a safe case filled load that would eliminate the...

That's almost a pristine bullet. I haven't tried forming cases yet but may give it a try.

With the exception of 4198 all the starting loads for powders you listed will get you there.

If you're handloading I bet some of those long shot wads that are not slit would hold the shot together longer. I think I saw a youtube video about converting them to a Flightcontrol style. I think...
I really like the looks of the 856 as well as the 3” barrel, but I simply don’t trust a Taurus. I’ve owned 3 all of them broke in some way within a short time and few rounds.

I’ve been using a lot of HS6. It works well in almost every pistol cartridge that I load for. 38, 357, 44 special and magnum, 45 acp, 45 colt and 480 ruger.

I’ve not shot lead 9MM bullets but I have shot jacketed bullets and they will work. I use my lee 9MM sizing die to size the 38 cases.
Forum: Black Powder Paper Patching
I’m not selling any mould, just offering a suggestion for a mould maker. I’ve ordered a couple of moulds from accurate and they are usually delivered well before the quoted delivery time.

I think he can cut the diameter bigger or smaller.
I’ve used both standard and magnum primers with 2400 and Never had ignition issues with standard primers.
Back when the super was introduced I shot a bit of it through my stock 45 USP. No destruction or damage occurred. I’m not sure about the later 45 model.

I used pistol primers in my sharps and found my firing pin would hang in the firing pin hole and I ended up breaking the Firing pin. I was not using the card wad under the primer and that is probably...

Lee auto disc has been the only measure I have loaded ammo with since 1986. They work great!
I like a couple models of the Henry Rifles, but those revolvers are Hideous. I'd rather have a beat up model 10.

Since Small pistol primers have been available and I have quite a few on hand I’ve been shooting more 38/357 loads. I have a 358429 GC mold that makes a variety of hollow points and want to work up a...

Probably track would be the best one to answer. Do they have a similar appearance to the ox yoke wads? I would imagine as long as the thickness is similar and are lubed for BP they will work fine....
