I'll second that. At typical 44 Magnum distances it just doesn't matter. If the group opens up to 3" at 100 yards that would still be plenty accurate enough to satisfy me.

A good friend of mine has one in .50BMG and you're right; it is a great shooter!

The two-part method using two different alloys is probably the best. Lead conducts heat so well, I don't know if half of a boolit could be cooled well enough to not be affected. It sounds simple,...

I don't know either but I'll take a stab at it: Probably for filing in the bottom of a groove or channel.

Our lead is mostly recycled. There's so much of it in circulation, it's WAY cheaper than mining it or importing it.

If it has to be on the bench the best place is a corner, especially if it has a swivel base.

I'll second that. I didn't get scammed, the driver literally gave my package to someone else but never scanned it off the truck, so there's no way of knowing where it went. USPS paid about 40% of the...
Forum: Black Powder Cartridge
I suppose there are but I've never used one. The odd thing is I notice more powder 'clinging' to the inside of the measure when I load smokeless; as if BP is less likely to accumulate static in the...

Longer boolit: "Short" (fast) twist.
Short Boolit: "Long" (slow) twist.
Velocity is determined more by weight than anything else, but since you can't change the twist rate you can load up or down...

I've done it. Commercial cast .30 and .32 boolits that weren't bad, but I bought molds that shot better.

I'll read a good book cover-to-cover, and I've read a handful more than once. I tried one of those Kindle gadgets and it was pretty neat but I just couldn't get used to it. Two of my favorites are...

I almost never crimp but the velocity and pressure deviations in the chart would give a lot of people something to think about.

I haven't tried the breechblock bushings but my experience with the others has been the opposite; I love the knurled rings with set screws, can't stand the O-ring style.

This thread will be old enough to buy itself a drink in a few years. Maybe whoever inspects primers at CCI won't be there much longer.
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I don't know what the OP needs but there was a thread recently where this came up: A boolit cast from 1:20 may slump a bit when fired. If it's good long-range design, it just might not shoot well in...

Doesn't take much. No phone or TV when I'm loading.

I'll second that. Didn't care much for the Cool Mist fluid but the unit itself works just fine with the right mix.

I wondered the same thing. I just flux by stirring with a stick and letting the ash cover the surface.

After my latest experience with USPS I will never ship a package with them again. I've had them rip the box open. Another time they literally broke a stock in half. Lately, they 'lost' a box of molds...

My mailbox is mounted on a telephone pole. But I also live on a pretty quiet street, so it'll probably never be an issue.
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I don't worry about the surface. I flux, stir, skim, and it doesn't cost a penny.

Best idea yet! The other answers; any of them could be right but any of those functions would work just as well by turning the cases base-up in a typical loading block.
