Thank you megasupermagnum. Blood Trail, what is the name of your company and do your slugs do well in rifled barrels? I would be very interested in giving them a try

I have given up this project, after many re-designs not working and even the company I had running these for me going out of business I have invested too much with no results. Between blowing out the...

No updates on this yet. They still have it at the gunsmith. I'm fighting myself on bugging them about it. I have some of the Leverevolution ammo which Hornady says is fine for the gun, and some...

I have always wanted a double 45-70. That would be awesome.

So I decided to test the gun out at a game ranch to see what it would do to a large animal, not really hunting but meat in the freezer and a good test for the gun. Shot a 1300lb Longhorn bull just...

Nice to hear many like it, It has to be loaded under 25,000 cup right? I read it has a cast reciever

I just picked up an old Shikari, It is a pretty cool gun, has a cleaning rod where the ramrod of a muzzleloader would go. Going to load som Bullshop bullets over IMR3031 and see what it can do after...

I do live in a straight wall restricted state, and it has to be less than 1.80" case length. I really like the gun and it is very smooth with the 150gr deer season rounds I bought with it, (mainly to...

I just picked up a .350 legend today and noticed most of the ammo is in the 150-170 grain range. Do they have any 200 or 200+ grain loads for it? It seems to be a really nice gun but there doesn't...

I just bought a Traditions Outfitter G2 for a deal that I couldn't pass up. It is chambered in 45-70. Does anyone have experience with this gun? I dont want Ruger No.1 loads but would like 1800fps...

I shoot a 500gr conical in my muzzleloaders, but powders are getting hard to find. Between Pyrodex RS and Select which do you prefer for heavy conicals? 80gr of select with an oversized lubed fiber...
Thank you! This is very helpful. I thought it may be abrasive as well but at the time these were made it was the strongest print option I had.

Thank you! I never knew this. Now I have to go test all my ingots
That seems a fair rule! It's a good thing the primer goes in before the powder
They are 3D printed, all of the test run were very consistent on sizing and held together a bit too well (stayed on the bullet) I am adding a relief groove at the bottom by the base to allow pre...
Noted on the gaps, they are pretty wide on these. I have a drawing of them at 1/3rd of the size that I will be using.
Here they are, I did some comparisons to a Hornady SST sabot today, the SST sabot measures .724. The sabot base seems to expand a bit under pressure.

I have only made and tested the 12 gauge so far. .720 is the diameter I used with .500-.503 diameter bullets. I need to make the sabot itself have a larger diameter, I am ok with the interior...
So I am ready to revisit this venture, last year I did successfully load and test my sabots, but the results were less than satisfactory. I made them from Nylon and they were very stiff, and I...
I will definitely keep an eye out for some, the popping primers thing seems alarming though, only because I have very close neighbors!

At my scrap yard clean lead is still pretty dirty, but seems mostly pure after cleaned up. Wheel weights are half price.
The shotgun I use is a Mossberg 695 Rifled bolt action. I do not own a Smooth bore and only shoot slugs, but I am considering one for a 45-70 project but that's a whole different story.
Also, would pressures be less given a lighter projectile? Say using the data for the 1043gr slug with a 730-740gr slug?
Ok, so given the same primer, would all straight walled shells have similar pressures? Say you were using Cheddite straight walled data and couldn't get those hulls, but used a Fiocchi straight...
