You are quite correct. Bevel bases are for high production machines. They fall out easier than plain bases.

That will not clean up. The 38/40 is as large at the base as a 44/40. Much larger than the 41 Colt.

Had I gone to do chrono work I would have taken more ammo, as it was I only went with enough to check my sights.
