What is a newspaper? I have heard about them as something OLD people used to stare at.:roll:
Seriously, they just stopped delivering my paper 5-6 years ago and told me to look at it...

You would not use lead as a body dolly. It is dshaped a little like one but definitely not a body tool if it is lead.

Rotometals has super pure tin for 38.00 for a 1.1 lb. bar. Regular tin for 28.00 with a minimum purchase of 6 units.

If they ever settle my workers comp suit from 18 years ago I might have the money to move but I can't afford it right now. Then is the issue of the actual move, ten years ago I could have done a lot...

That was a great find, they look like 25 plus lbs. each. Toxic, yea right. I live in NJ and I have three superfund sites within 5 miles of me. A military missile silo where a nuke missile caught on...

NJ is great for changing the rules, about every two weeks. Even the cops have no idea what is legal and what is not at this point. My CCW is due this fall and I have to go through the same police QC1...

Interesting, I wonder if anyone has ever gone back down in those mines to do a visual survey? Or are they all flooded?

Slick 50! There is a name I have not heard for a long time. I remember putting that in a racing engine for dirt track racing to see if it helped. I didn't see any difference in my times but I did win...

Bazoo is correct, 3 lbs. of that alloy to 100 lbs. of wheel weights will give you pb 93-Sn 3.07,Sb 3.05,Arsenic .24, Cu.10.
Another way to look at it is 4.8 oz. to 10lbs.
BHN 12.3

Adding that to wheel weights would raise your Sb. which you would not want. This is an alloy that would be perfect to add to pure lead.

Evaporust is a Chelating process and I am pretty sure it cannot harm solid metal. I have had very good results with Evaporust on rusted old tools and threading dies. It did not harm the threads in...

Looking at those two pictures side by side you can see that little has changed other than the modern handling machinery.

It has been unusually cold the last week and a half so I hope they don't show up here yet but this is about the time they usually get here. Will need to get the feeders out and up just in case. They...

How many of you were drooling over all those lead bars as they were loaded into the railcars? I know I was. I also noted the safety harnesses in the mines! That was WAY ahead of it's time. I did see...

Funny that people in Delaware had stuff moving around and I am in NJ just a bit North-east of Philadelphia and I felt nothing. I was inside working on my computer and the ground is saturated from...

I don't want to start a war here but I can attest that staph toxins will kill you. I had a staph infection in my cervical spine and I died on the operation table as they were trying to get it all...

I remember the C-Rats from Vietnam, most were dated back to WWII and Korea. But at that time you have to remember that WWII was only 25 years prior. Even then in the jungle heat and humidity, (Liquid...

I ran a Super Splitter kinetic splitter in the 70's when they first cam out and I will say they are fast. You REALLY need to watch what you are doing or you will be loading logs with less fingers....

As a teenager all the way up into my 50's I was exceptionally strong and lifting 300 lb. logs up on the splitter was no problem. I actually enjoyed the workouts. Now I am in my 70's the big boy pants...

So an Australian outfit bought all of the tooling? Any more info on them? Name? web site?

I have a Tractor Supply 27 ton and it has never met a log it can't split. I get some really nasty wood once in a while that is all knots and corkscrews but if it doesn't split it then it cuts through...

One thing you need to check with heater cores is electrolysis, If you have a bad ground on the engine then voltage will pass to the heater core and etch it out quickly. Chevies had a big problem with...

Jeep CJ, take passenger side door off and everything is right there in front of you bolted to the inside of the dash. Can have it out in 5 minutes. Probably faster with todays battery powered tools.
