When you are melting pewter what are you using as flux if any?

can make candle to see if smokes. I assume plastic would be bad for fouling?

I am moving towards that answer. heavy for a 357. i also shoot the 44 mag so if i need more power i will pick that one.

The powders i have are Hp 38, H110, HS-6, HS-7, clays, Universal, Unique and IMR4198(speer manual from 1987 recommends)

So normally shoot 148gn WC or 158gn SWC. I shoot a S & W 686 with a 4" barrel and a Dan Wesson with a 10 inch barrel.
I have not cast uding GC bullets and wonder at what velocity you need them?

I was wrong. The bigger plate is 3/4 inch thick and 6" x 6.5"
The smaller one is 3/8 x 4" x 4"
I am not sure they go together but they had shrink wrap to hold all of them together.

Never did the calculation. That puts it in perspective. 0.16% is not worth the worry.

Thank you for your info will take some time to sort. A little concerened about items that are not stamped pewter.

I have 150-300+ of pewter i have purchase at thrift shops and garage sales over the years.
mostly mugs and plates and vases.

Is there different alloys of pewter?
