Thanks. I have a lot of Cheddite primers. I guess I can mark the hulls with a C as well.
So I'm guessing about .001 difference is ok either direction but not more than that? So Rem hulls with CCI/Fed primers, and Cheddites for anything .242 or bigger?
Yeah I think I saw that data...
Thanks, folks, I'll pass on those Winchester hulls. I'm sure at some point I'll be able to find something I can use with Cheddite primers, maybe even with Federal 12S0 wads too.
That website...
I'm thinking of buying some of these once-fired hulls:

But I want to know exactly what...

Boy, that sounds like the ancient Chinese art of Chi-ting. I remember when we did the Space Derby, my dad handed me a potato peeler and told me to carve my rocket. It actually won despite the...

Well, I finally got my RL550 through FedEx. I had filed a police report and let them know, also the member who shipped it informed them. About a week later (last night), it showed up between bed time...

It's pretty telling that Reddit has subreddits for FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, and probably any other delivery company you can think of. The posts on the UPS one are largely about getting a job there,...

The question I have with this approach is what do you do with the water afterwards? I reckon the wax would clog up the drain. Or is it in clumps you can skim off?

Having a bit of a FedEx nightmare myself. Bought a Dillon 550B from a fellow member here, and neglected to ask him to not use FedEx. Well, sure enough. . .
Disappeared for a week after it got to...

Thanks for the advice, folks! What I did was put them all in a jar and pour in some paint thinner, and let it sit for a few weeks so the wax all dissolved off and collected in the bottom of the jar....

I've been in contact with CB member deltaenterprizes, and learned that he is having some health issues at the moment. I'm trying to balance privacy (since he hasn't asked me to share any information...

Thanks, folks, looks like I'll be going a different direction. I have a friend who is very knowledgeable on black powder firearms, and perhaps he can show me how easy it is to clean a traditional...

My thinking is that while I would need real BP to prime the pan, it would allow me to use pellets if that's all that's available (as I saw this summer) and also loose substitute powders. Real holy...

I see that Traditions is making a flintlock which can use loose powder or pellets, and can be cleaned from the breech.

I was looking at the Lee hand primer with the triangular tray. There was a big warning on Lee's site that said with certain brands of primers, the entire tray has been known to explode, so they...
That sounds like my old one. I wonder if that's the same style the OP is fighting with?
I just got the Frankford Arsenal one, and it seems pretty good. Nice to be able to sit on the couch and pretend I care about what's on TV while not feeling I am wasting my time.
Mine old one must be a somewhat newer one. I think I got it circa 2008. I just unscrew the pin which holds the curved sliding piece, squeeze the lever a bit, take out the curved metal and let the...
I almost died laughing when you said "Only the Sith deal in absolutes"!
Only complaint is the volume was pretty low and I had a hard time hearing it at full volume.
I'm not so much of a...
IIRC on the old style if you don't keep the lever depressed when the bar is off, you mess it up and are supposed to send it back for service.
Just got one of the new ones and it was missing parts....
I have one of these as well, my grandfather's. I haven't ever really opened it more than .1" in my lifetime. . . until last week when I got curious and opened it to .9". Now it's very stiff to turn,...

I did this and while I did find varying thicknesses, most of the stuff from Home Depot and 1 example from Lowes (the pre-bent aluminum step flashing) was .014. So I am figuring this would be the...
