I have some .303 Savage cases that I may try if the other cases don't work.

What I measure on the casting is;

base dia. - .440
rim dia. - .504
case length- 2.330
throat dia. - .323
bullet dia. - .318

I ordered 20 cases from Buffaloarms. I'll wait on the dies....

I think I have it narrowed down to a 8x58 Sauer. Dimensions are real close. Now the hunt for brass, bullets and dies.

Yes, .318 would be right for the bore.

The rim dimension on my barrel is .517. I'm not following. I understand the lengthening. How would that reduce the neck down to 7.8mm? I have no idea what dies to get for it.

I've never played with powder coated bullets before. Has anyone tried them in a cap & ball percussion pistol or loaded in a black powder cartridge?

I have never used PC bullets before. Cast in pure lead and PC, will they still bump up to fill the grooves in oversize bores? We are talking in muzzleloaders with black powder in questionable bores.

I know stupid question. When I make a casting of the chamber I lube it not to stick. Do I start out with a clean chamber for removal?

I picked up a 1884 SRC trapdoor recently. Checking out the chamber, it seems to have a case stuck about 1/2 in. I can scratch it with a metal pick. Any tricks to get it out or is it gunsmith time?

The caliber is 10.15x61R Jarman. Parent case I have no idea. Buffaloarms had the ammo and brass.

I finally got around to getting a chamber casting. I and several others all came up with 10.15x61R Jarmann. Has anyone had any experience with this chambering? I've got cases headed this way.

I have shortened the .50-70 to .50-45 and have shot them with no trouble in my Navy rolling block carbine.

What I was told it is a Hans Larsen/Joh. S. Guidim, Tennstempel model. I was intrigued with the design and craftmanship.
