If they are gas checked you should be OK at 2,000 fps.
At 2,000 fps your bullet is doing 120k rpm so it's well below the RPM threshold which is, if I remember correctly, about 144k RPM.

300 BLK all bullets, 45/70 with cast bullets

I only use cast on my Rem 700 300 BLK.
Never got decent accuracy until I changed the original 1:7 bbl for a 1:12 bbl.
I believe the 1:7 twist was way to fast for cast.

A while back I bought a double cavity LEE TLC432-265-RF "Ranch Dog". It casts a WFN bullet that works like a charm in my 44 Mag Marlin 1894. I liked it so much a bought the same mold (5 cavities)...

Gnappi, I guess I dislike the bright colors. Somebody here recommended mixing black and white to get gray so I'm not doing transparent anymore and going for gray instead. Rat-gray sounds like a...

Hi everybody. I've been reading a lot about PC and it sounds interesting enough that I would like to give it a try. Does anybody here knows where can I find a sample of good transparent coating?

I load 3.2 grs BE with a 160 RNFP for my S&W mod 60. Accurate and very pleasant to shoot in the snubby.

1,225 fps in a m29? That must kick!!. when shooting my 29's (4" and 6") I load to 950 - 1,000 fps tops. Full blown loads only for the Ruger SBH and Marlin 1894.

Sometimes you have to choose between setting the bullet below the neck line or leave a couple grease grooves outside it... with me the grease grooves always loose and end out of the neck. Luckily...

Golden rule for cast bullets: seat the bullet as deep as possible without letting the base go below the case's neck line

Michael, I also use a Lee 312-155-2R on a 300 BLK in a 1:7" barrel. Bullets are cast from an alloy close to what you use, water quenched, GC'D and sized 0.311" on a Lee push thru sizer.

I have a couple NOE moulds in 30 cal and one of these casts a 180 grs Ranch Dog design (big flat point), a beautiful bullet that works beautifully in my 308 Win bolt action rifles.

I'm with Al and James. I use 45-45-10, apply a light coat, let dry, resize, second coat, dry and reload. No leading on any of my rifles (300 BLK, 308 Win, 45-70, 44 Mg) with or without GC and...

I size to 0.311" for all my 308 Win's and 300 blk's. I did notice better accuracy over .308 and 309"

Jobot, I`ve loaded extensively the Lee C309-200-R for a Ruger STI (16.5" bbl with 1:10" twist) pushing it from 1,200 fps to close to 2,000 fps.
Best results, regardless of powder, came at around...
