If they are gas checked you should be OK at 2,000 fps.
At 2,000 fps your bullet is doing 120k rpm so it's well below the RPM threshold which is, if I remember correctly, about 144k RPM.

I only use cast on my Rem 700 300 BLK.
Never got decent accuracy until I changed the original 1:7 bbl for a 1:12 bbl.
I believe the 1:7 twist was way to fast for cast.

My Speer Manual (12th edition, 1994) shows the following for 45 auto rim:
250 grs L-SWC
Unique 5.8 grs 772 fps
Max 6.2 grs 824 fps

Blue Dot 8.6 grs 789 fps
Max 9.0 grs 824...

1,225 fps in a m29? That must kick!!. when shooting my 29's (4" and 6") I load to 950 - 1,000 fps tops. Full blown loads only for the Ruger SBH and Marlin 1894.

Jobot, I`ve loaded extensively the Lee C309-200-R for a Ruger STI (16.5" bbl with 1:10" twist) pushing it from 1,200 fps to close to 2,000 fps.
Best results, regardless of powder, came at around...
