I tried some of the wax case lube. It left a soft gooey stuff on the cases after they were fire, Hoppe's #9 worked to take it off! Went back to grease to lube the cases!

I have 20 Winchester 30-40 once fired brass in the box.
Willing to trade for 32-40 Winchester brass.

A 535 gr. Postall pushed by 26gr. of 5744 is what my Shiloh Sharps 45-70 likes! Shooting out to just 200 yds so far, more distance this year will tell!

marlinman93, try a spokeshaven, they work fine for delicate work.

This has been an interesting thread for me. I recently purchased a Winchester 1885 38-55 that was re-barreled and re-blued. The bore slug measured .374, somewhat small, so I ordered 355grain .376"...

I am new to single shot rifles and casting bullets for them. I have a Sharps Shiloh 45-70 and would like to cast a 535gr. Postell type bullet. Would anyone be able to give me a mold number...

I have had my new 45-70, 34" bbl, Shiloh Sharps Montana Roughrider out twice so far. It shot about 4-5 inches to the right at 50 yds. Adjusted the sights but have not shot at 100 yds yet to see how...
