I've reformed .30-30 Winchester brass to make .375 Win fodder. Haven't use it in full power loads but it suits for plinking with cast bullets.

I prefer the Lee TL314-85-WC, for which I have a six-cavity mold. Matt's Bullets also used to offer this, but I don't see it anymore on their website.
Prime the unsized case, add the powder charge, drop the lead ball into the case. It will lodge somewhere below the mouth. Now run your case into a sizing die (with the priming punch removed) about...

I have a quantity of Nosler .22 Hornet brass. One thing about them is the primer pocket being very tight. I had to switch from CCI to Winchester primers to get them to fit.
I have one of the Lee TL314-85-WC molds. Matt's Bullets offers the bullet at a pretty substantial lower price than conventionally sized-and-lubed bullets. It's a good, accurate bullet for .32...
I've reloaded Federal GM papers up to six times before getting pinholes, but that was with a light load of 7/8 oz. Handicap loads will start pin-holing at the third reload. I use a smooth cone...

I turned the sizer upside down and laid a hair dryer next to it with the heat on. Took about half an hour to melt all the lube out.

I use a Coleman two-burner white gasoline stove to deal with smelting range lead. A small cast iron plumber's pot goes on top. Cheap, sturdy, and pretty quick once everything's up to speed.
Yes, I thought it would be obvious that the corner diamonds were what I was aiming at for the last three shots. The barrel has open sights and my eyes are in their seventh decade of use, hence the...
Why not? The slugs seem to be hitting the point of aim.
Results at 50 yards. I attached a Merit aperture sight to my shooting glasses for this test. I'm satisfied with the accuracy of these slugs in my 16-gauge 1100. I used the first three shots to...

Here is a photo of the slug and components as well as a couple loaded shells. I also put together some round ball loads.
This is a Russian mold, a Svarog brand made for the 16 gauge and meant to be used with a plastic wad column. It measures .595" at the skirt and .610" at the head. I will find out more about its...
Well, loaded up five shells with a recipe for Fiocchi hulls and Green Dot for 7/8 oz shot from Lyman's 5th Edition. The slug weighs 365 grains, so less than 7/8 oz. Used 28-gauge fiber wads in the...
Is a rifled barrel necessary to stabilize the slugs that resemble an air rifle pellet? I acquired a mold that casts such slugs. The slug has a hollow base.
According to Hodgdon, HS-6 is identical to Winchester 540. Also, HS-7 = 571, H110 = 296, HP38 = 231, H414 = 760.
Lyman's 3rd edition has recipes for .575" round balls in the 20 gauge. Wads used include the WAA20 and the SP20.
Any reason not to use jacketed bullet data when loading identical weights of cast bullets? I am thinking primarily of medium velocity cartridges such as .30-30, .35 Remington, .358 Winchester, and...

I've been casting for the .45-70 lately and prefer not to size, but I would like to use my Lyman 450 to crimp the gas checks and lube. I do have a .459" die but would like a larger one. Does anyone...

I got one of them roosian roll crimpers a while back. It is the nuts for a neato looking shell.

I suspect the weight variation was caused by a troll.

I don't size cast bullets anymore. I let the barrel do it.

I use HP-38/231 in all of them for target cast bullet loads. For a little more power, I go to Unique.

That looks like something NEI used to offer. I'll have to dig out my old catalogs and check.

About the only reason I use my 450 now is to seat and crimp gas checks. No sizing. Then it's tumble lubing them with LLA. I let the barrel size the bullet.
