Learning to use the mil dot system is a hobby in itself. I enjoy judging distance by ranging a known (14") steel plate at 400-700 yards. OP is that a 6 power you have right now or a 6-18 power?

something I noticed... according to Lyman's 49th a 30-06 loaded with a 311299 and 17.2gr of unique will give 1675fps and 38,000+PSI, 21gr of 4227 yields 1600fps and 19,100 PSI. Almost the same...

how does this method differ from some of the powder coating methods on the site?

do you all think this method would require a dedicated tumbler? or would cleaning with acetone/LT be enough to go back to tumbling brass?

You would rebarrel, not rebore. and you should compare the cost of sending your gun to a smith vs buying a used rifle. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in. good luck!
