In my experience Kimber, Colt and Aftermarket Glock 9mm barrels appreciate .356 boolits.
9mm Beretta, Browning, S&W, and a Girsan High Power clone appreciate .358 boolits.

Thanks for the replies gents.
If I do get a Ruger 9mm 1911, I will try both the .356 and .358 9mm boolits in my inventory.
The .358 Boolit in question is an Arsenal Copy of a Lyman 358242...

Hello,
Sometime this year I may add a Ruger 9mm 1911 to my inventory. I know my Kimber 9mm 1911 likes .356 boolits. I have only run fmj or plated in my Auto Ordnance 9mm. I also have plenty of...
Hello,
I want to get the proper steel top punch for my Lyman 358432? I am currently using an Aluminum top punch and it is a nightmare to remove from my lube sizer. What proper top punch does the...

Dual Cavity 358311 on the way to my home!
Is the #311 top punch (that I use for my 358242) the correct punch ?
Thanks Paul.
Nice group Shopdog.
At 7 yards my 1 group with 3.6 grains of W231 was similar looking.

I have W231, W244, W572 and Unique on hand. I am trying to not use Unique because I have my 1/2 can reserved for my 358242 9mm loading and it has been impossible to find locally. Glad the W231 seems...
Tom’s molds are most excellent. I own 4 currently and dream of acquiring more:mrgreen:

I am intending to get a Lyman 358311 mold soon. What powders do users of this boolit like ? I am asking this with standard pressure .38 Special loads in mind. I am hoping Winchester powders are...

Thanks for the replies Gents.
I do have the Lee push through sizers in .357 and .358. The .358 is dirty from Alox coated boolits. The .357 is clean and intended to be used on boolits that will be...
Initial results with my 3 inch GP-100 .38 were very promising. Top accuracy was with 3.6 grains of W231. Also 3.8 grains of W244 did well. All shooting was DA fire at 7 yards and if I did my part all...

I agree about the thinner walled 9mm brass for “chubby” 9mm boolits. All of my .357 coated and .358 conventional lubed (Thompson Red Angel btw) boolits go into Remington 9mm brass. This combo seems...

Hello,
My want of a Beretta Storm may have to backburner until next year. I may however be able to scrape together the funds to snag a Hi Point 9mm Carbine in the next 2 months.

Thanks gents. I fully intend to seat the wadcutter out like a type III wadcutter. I will try the 3.9 grains of W231 first and see how it does. I am probably a month or away from testing this load...
Hello,
I have just snagged a single cavity Lyman 358432 160 grain Wadcutter mold. I have a 3 inch GP-100 in .38 Special Only, that I intend to craft some target loads for. My powder selection is...
When I was shooting .45 acp, and if I ever return to it, I think 4.3 grains of clays with a 185 grain lead rnfp was soft shooting and accurate.

A cautionary tale. Glad your pal didn’t wind up with a ruined barrel.
I have also used 5.0 grains of Unique with Hornady 115fmj. It worked but it was not my favorite.

I am happy if my 9mm, .38 and .357 boolits are within 2 grains. If casting .45, I would go to 3 grains variance. I think all of my present molds and alloys have no trouble achieving this standard.
I generally just buy bullet casting alloy from them, which works great in my molds. The only bullet of theirs I am currently using is the Hi-tek coated 140 grain .357 Zinger. I am fond of the bullet...

Thanks. The holder I have. I could go the tumble lube route.
However, doesn’t anyone make a .365 sizer to fit a Lyman Lube Sizer?
