I've shot deer with my Winchester 1894 carbine in 32WS using both home cast bullets and Speer jacketed bullets. All the deer dropped within feet or on the spot. Each was shot in a different location...

I just bought a couple pounds of powder from a local shop for $32.00. The owner showed me the price he was being charged by the wholesaler he received it from and said they had raised the price by...

I have a Marlin 39 Mounty and really like it but I always wanted a Winchester 9422. I think the Winchester is the most handsome of 22 leverguns but they are very pricey and the reason I have never...

It came out looking very nice. I like Pilkington's oil with red tint in it for walnut stocks. It's supposed to be the pre '64 Winchester color. Not sure how close it comes since I've never seen a...

The Winchester came in rifle and carbine versions. All had pistol grip stocks with half magazine. They also came in standard with plain stocks and deluxe model with checkering on the forearm and...

I've shot deer with my 32 WS carbine using boolits and Speer jacketed and they go down just as fast using either. I seen another Winchester carbine made in the 1950's the other day and have been...
Bought several boxes of Remington 30-30 one year for hunting. My daughter and I were sighting in our rifles and we had three rounds that wouldn't fire. At that time I read Remington was having some...

Look at Dr. Pearson's no drill scope mounts. Not sure if their Rossi model will fit a Winchester or not.

Thanks guys you confirmed what I thought.

An 1873 is set up different than others like the 92 and 94. The brass block you see at the bottom and top of the receiver is the elevator and where the next round to load sets. It could have a sharp...

Hey guys I seen a photo somewhere of a Dillon 550 or 750 with a small led light mounted on the press. I'd like to get something like it to put on my 550 and 450 but haven't found anything yet. I...
You can use rubbing alcohol also to clean the oil out. I use it to clean my flintlocks before shooting and it works great. Only time I've really ever had problems with oil causing problems is when I...

If you don't use powder tools it will stink less. The power tools heat the antler and bone up and increases the stink. I use a respirator much of the time now when cutting even wood. Walnut dust...

Thanks guys. I thought it would work with soft lubes but wanted to make sure before I made a big gooey mess.

I have had my Star for two years or more. It's an older one I picked up from the interweb some place. I'm just finally getting it set up and ready to use. It has the hard blue lube in it right now...
I've owned two Colt 1911's and one Ruger 1911. I have the Lyman 200 gr SWC mold and it shoots fine in the Colts as long as load is strong enough for the spring. The Ruger was more fussy about what it...

I have a Win 94 made in the late 1920's with a half mag and lyman tang sight. It had a climbin Lyman sight at some point in it's life. I get best results from heavier bullets. I have an Accurate mold...
If you have a S&W N frame the 358429 won't work. The cylinders are too short unless you seat them extra deep. I do like that bullet though.

There is at least one book about flintlocks. It's out of print now and not sure how easy they are to come by. Journal of Historical Armsmaking Technology is the name of it. I think the NMLRA was the...
I don't think handles are the problem either. My Accurate mold blocks are the exact same size and work fine with the same handles I use for the Arsenal blocks. Only difference is the pins on the...
I just got a couple of Arsenal molds one a 429421 and a 38 RCBS clone. I like them and have cast a few bullets with the 38 but wish the rear pin was shorter or tapered more.
Targa I meant to say hold the front of the blocks. If the back end opens a bit first the blocks come apart easier.
I think the Arsenal mold pins are a bit long for the taper they use on them. I just got two and used one yesterday and had the same problem. However if I hold the back of the mold as I open the mold...
