I loaded the 35 Whelen successfully with pistol primers, Bullseye or W231 powder using 168gr SWC’s. Accuracy wasn’t great with either powder combo but the SWC’s came out the end of the barrel and hit...
Not 200 grains but, the Lee 309-170-F sized .311 after coating (178gr all dressed up) is the most accurate boolit I’ve found in my ’06. Several close seconds but so far the Lee is the winner.

Hodgdon (Winchester) has data for the 44 Magnum and W231 powder using a 240gr LSWC and 270gr GoldDots in an 8.2 inch barrel.
For the 240gr LSWC they start at 5.5gr (800 fps) and go up to 11.0gr...
Shuz made the suggestion of the thread (in my opinion) if your going to trade in your rifle for a handgun. I have a RedHawk in 44 mag and its a great gun but just shy of “heavier than a dead...
I don’t have or load for the 450 BM. The boolits my friend took his deer with were the Lee 452-252 SWC which finish at 260gr powder coated and checked. I also sent him some of the Lee C452-300-RF...
I sent a friend of mine some boolits sized .452 and he was able to take a deer last year with his 450 Bushmaster. I’d slug the bore to confirm what size you’d need if there is any doubt.
The 6.5 CM is a very enjoyable cartridge. I tried for too long to get my bug hole rifle to shoot 469’s, complete with the help of some very experienced cast shooters here, and failed miserably....
Thank you for the report!
1 1/2” accuracy at that velocity seems very reasonable to me for a cast boolit. I’ve had very good results with a hollow pointed 257464 (89gr) and Unique in an old Savage...
Old post I know BUT… inquiring minds wanna know - How did the 250-3000 AI do with cast?

Good for you! I should join you in the no cell phone world.
No idea what you have. I can’t find an Ideal/Lyman mould that matches that description or the number 257346.
I’d cast some up,...

Welcome to the forum!
Can you post a picture(s) of the mould?

Have that mould, a 308 and some W760 - Thanks for posting!
Probably apples to oranges but I've had good luck with the 264 Win Mag - Same case just .284 vs .264

When I received the 450 it too had old lube in it. A bit of research on this site gave several great ideas how to clean one up. I disassembled it, hung it with some wire over an old box and put the...

Hello Dave and welcome to the madness!
I’ve been powder coating for sometime and fought using the traditional lube(s)... until very recently. In the past more than one person has tried to give me...

Maybe a Hensley & Gibbs #245 - they should weigh somewhere around 185 grains. The nose on your boolit looks too long though.

There is your answer ^^^^^
I use that same boolit and had always loaded 4.1 grains of W231 but discovered a Ruger that wouldn’t cycle with that load. 4.3 grains of W231 was the magic.
It’s possible I may have my history completely wrong but didn’t Doug Wesson build the 357 Magnum, to use with the Ideal 360363, just for reduced loads in a straight walled cartridge? ;)

Went through the "tripod question" a few months back. You can't go wrong with a Manfrotto. You can use it for your camera, chronograph and as a rifle mount. Probably not the least expensive option.
Larry is spot on ^^^^
Sadly, 4227 though a wonderful powder with lots of uses the 32-20 isn't going to be one of them. If you have or can find some faster powder you'll be set. FWIW I have great...

A lot like that ^^^^
