Found really old can at Tulsa gun show. It says Hercules 2400. Appears never opened but the man put a sticker on it labeled imr 4831. What do i have here? Would you use it?

I just noticed 244 listed in 38 special. 158 lead with 4 grains equals 16100 psi. Smaller case so a 5 grain charge should be close in 357 case??? To get to 25k, i imagine 6ish??? Your thoughts?

I vote the 45 colt. Brass is easy to find. Cheap to reload and loaded up to 30000psi is a real thumper. I load mine in an all weather Henry and it would be good out to a 100 or slightly more imo. I...

I must admit. I see 244 as considerably slower than 231.

I appreciate the input and your logic. I will start in the 6ish range and work up cautiously. Since this is for target practice/ joy of shooting in Missouri Ozarks, accuracy is more important to me...

I should mention that i desire to stay near 25000 psi so as not to lead barrel. So far i have tried titegroup and AA9 with terrible inaccuracies. I have ordered Win 231 and have that as back up. Wish...

I show 244 as nearly identical to unique on burn chart. It also shows minimum charge of 8.5 for 44 magnum 240 lead. If i reduce to 80 percent of 8.5, i end up with 6.8. (80% is average resuction in...

Would anyone concur with a load range of 6.4-8 grains of 244 in 41 mag given its similarities with Unique. (215 hard cast 18bhn coated).

I recently came across some Win 244. Want to use it in 41 magnum with MBC 215 coated. Anyone have a successful load worked up for this?
