Thanks guys.. I am having a little shrinkage around the bands or maybe should say they aren't filling out like they should. Is that due to lead not being hot enough???

What have you 'all found to be the optimal temp. to pour??
I know I've been told you can't bottom pour these...

I just checked my lead.. I have a pile of it most all of it is 10:1 in hardness.
Think thats too hard for my 40-65 and other BPC rifles.

My parents live in Mcalisterville, Pa just down 322 about 20 miles from Lewistown.

I have a Farmingdale 40-65 which shoots great .. and even it will except a lot of loads my Big Timber 40-65 won't. Chamber seems bigger.. I don't need both if your knowing anyone that wants a 40-65...

40-90SS ,40-90BN,(2)40-65,40-70SS,45-90 ,50-90 ,and 54cal.

Not in my 40-70ss... Only the 30-40 krag because of the rim...
But I did find that 405 basic is what I have to have in the 40-90ss.

OK the 405 brass arrived yesterday and I sized them first in the 40-90 ss die then put them through the 40-70 ss die. and they fit. loaded up 20 last eve. 85 gn., 1.5 swiss,and my 405 gr. bullet....

ok just ordered a box of 20 from Buffalo arms... 405 basic.. lets hope they work.
I did put a 40-70/30-40krag in there and they go in perfect.

Just got this Shiloh Sharps 40-90ss .. and bought some Bell brass and dies.. Was going to load some last night.. and even sized they(the brass) won't fit in the gun ..they slide 3/4 way in and stop....

WOW!!!! That is one beautiful rifle. Just bought another Shiloh or I'd be all over it.. That slide show didn't work for me, but your pictures on here just take my breath away.
