This was being done at the Winchester Custom Shop so I would think that they would want to have their name on it. That was why I just assumed that the SN and name hadn't engraved in yet.

It looked very smooth where the SN is usually so I do not think so. I was wondering if they put it somewhere else so the could use the flat area for engraving or if they planned to add the SN later...

Don't think they would be making a prototype into a presentation rifle. Just not finished when he died and they didn't continue working on it.

I assume that you are also using 150gr bullets? That powder is available locally and is one of the ones I was looking at. Is this the only one you have used and how do you like it?

I mainly use my 243 for shooting sage rats. A little off on the accuracy I wouldn't worry about.
