As time goes on and I hear new ways scammers take advantage of people, I wish the rules would also evolve to something like a 60/60 rule. No offense intended but I appreciate the rule and the ones...

According to my Speer reloading handbook, safe loads are listed not to exceed 25,000 C.U.P for a 45 Colt on a Contender. That equates to 19,998 PSI.
Hornady lists my 410 skeet load at 9,300 PSI...

I bought some Hornady 00 #6400. 4 of the shot stack nice in the wad, which should give a good crimp. I can push the loaded wad through the TC choke that comes standard with the 410/45 Colt barrel....

I’m still trying to put together a load. Could you share the pictures?

What I’m finding:
A CB5050-410HS wad (the same wad I use to reload for skeet) has an internal depth of ~1.317”.
A 00 buckshot is 0.33” diameter and weighs 60 gr.
In the wad I can stack 4-00 balls...

Ugh, math again.
I have ( had before the terrible boating accident) a TC Super 14 w/ 410/45 Colt barrel.
Hornady lists 410 load data, on their reloading website, using 3-0.375” lead balls, and...
Some will advise against polygonal rifling but you should research that topic yourself. I shoot a Kimber 1911 in 9 mm.

Here’s something a little confusing to me.
Hornady makes/sells and has 000 buckshot on their website. Diameter is 0.350
I downloaded a chart that shows diameters of all the buckshot. Their...

Yep. It’s been too cold for me to get outdoors so I’m still in the 410 rabbit hole.
Can anyone share their 410 buckshot reloading results? I am beginning this journey of 410 buckshot reloading...
I wipe mine with my gun rag when the bullets begin to stick in the mold. The rag has oil on it and that seems to be my fix.
This discussion has given me great information plus sent me down a rabbit trail. I have a Super 14 and O/U in 410 and I’m wanting to load some buckshot, mostly for fun.
Where can I find buckshot reloading information for the 410?

I have one but I use Hi-Tec coatings. I just use it for sizing the bullets.

I’ll monitor the bullet weight. Check a bullet you like for hardness and weigh it. Add what you need to the pot to get the same bullet weight.
I’ve seen several recent tests and the Judge seems like a great home defense pistol. As long as the shooter understands the limitations it should perform. Now I must get/borrow one to shoot it myself.
I’m watching videos showing the Win PDX1 defense ammo being shot from a Judge. That combination looks like a great defensive combination for home use. I didn’t see a grouping of the BB’s but that...
I want to thank you for your input and time it took. This group has given me options to consider and weigh the pros and cons. My biggest concern is that a single projectile might not meet the target...

Thanks for sharing. Great pictures and story, I enjoyed it very much.
That’s exactly what I think I need, very close quarters. Can you suggest where I can find reloading information for a 410 handgun?
Hmm. This sounds interesting. I have some 110 gr JHP’s. Have you duplicated the rounds?
These posts are great input. To further explain:
Home defense to be kept next to the bed.
The person is older and can’t hold steady to aim.
Dogs are out. In their eyes, animals belong outside. ...
Ok. Based on opinions, the Judge is not the handgun for him.
Any suggestions for a light, small, home defense for someone with shaky hands?
