Yup. That's primarily how I narrowed it down to those three powders.
Still, there is a bugger knowledge base over here regarding cast boolit loads.

I'm not certain. Longest I've loaded has been 1.135". Gun is an xdm.
Can you share your bullseye load, length, velocity, etc?
I've never been concerned with reaching major power factor until recently getting involved in USPSA.
I cast the Lee 175 grain TC which means I want to load to 950 fps.
I currently use Bulleye...

Nice looking bullets.
Have you tried to make any w/o cutting the cases?

I'm using a lee classic cast press. So far so good but I've only swaged a dozen bullets. We'll see how it holds up. I'm thinking about getting another one for the core seat die so I don't have to...

I just one stepped it in the swaging die. I'm not going to use the core seat die until I can get a proper base punch for it.
I thought I busted the swaging die as the pin that forms the hollow...

Was tinkering around some more. I hand annealed some cases with a propane torch and made sure each case was really glowing.
I ran them threw the swaging die and they came out closer to .40". Only...

Maybe I didn't anneal cases long enough.
I'm really surprised at how soft the CH core seat base punch is. The edges are mangled from the BRASS case mouth. I understand that there is a lot of...

I just got my dies and was tinkering around with them. This is what I've noticed so far:
-The core seating die is pretty much useless if using 9mm cases as the jacket. The punch is the same (if...

Just curious...What size boolits is this mold dropping?
Forum: Cast Boolits
Lee has been having qc issues with this mold. I had the exact same problem with this mold and so have many others.
Check out this thread. There is an email from lee regarding this mold toward the...

Brilliant. How long did it take to machine that bolt?
Forum: Cast Boolits
It sounds like if someone wanted a fat mold, they could just buy a new Lee .40 mold and it'll drop WELL over .401.
I like new molds and would not want to trade for a used one.

UPDATE:
I sent this mold back to Lee on Dec. 4th. I emailed them the other day to check the status. This is the email I received back from them:
Mr. d_striker:
I have checked with the mold...

How do you make those notches?
Do you ever do that to your swaged .40 bullets?
I've casted a couple thousand 124-2R bullets for 9mm. These bullets feed fine in my Ruger and Sig but give me problems in my XDm. When an empty case is extracted, the rim of the spent case will...

I got the hp dies. Total came to $159.11. With an advertised price of $129 I don't see how tax and shipping are $30.

What about just pouring lead directly into the 9mm cases? I read another post where a member did this.
The only challenge I can see is the varying weight of each bullet.
Forum: Swaging
yeah that's the post that made me order swaging stuff. I already cast for 9mm and plan on using those boolits for a core. The jacket does not go all the way to the tip of the bullet though.
I...

I've seen the Corbin core mold for $149. What are some other, possibly cheaper, options?
I'm primarily interested in a core for .40 bullets made from 9mm cases. Also what diameter core would be...

Have you ever cut notches in a .40 cal bullet made from 9mm cases? I realize that using a 9mm boolit in a 9mm case will yield a swaged bullet with a lead tip. Would cutting a notch in the case still...

I found these in one of your posts from another site...How did you cut the notches in the one on the far right?
