FWIW, black has a tendency to "over cook", which is what your photo looks like to me.

Very interested. I don't care about 30 caliber anything, but I would still buy one just to support the cause.

Unless they are dropping rather oversized, just coat them as cast, and then size after baking.

The transparent green Colt BB's work better than black for me. I haven't found them in bulk for a long time though (locally anyway).

Amen.
It will be a game changer if we can figure this out.
I definitely applaud Al for taking at least one of the steps toward making this work. A modern cast rifle mold did not really exist...

The LEE Classic Cast single stage is a very strong press.
Lot's of folks swage with it.
There are swaging accessory kits available for it.
It is only $100, and easy to find.
Do not use...

I don't know much about the RCBS, but any parts you might need RCBS will gladly send you if they still have them. Quck google search shows that model coming in manual and auto configurations, yours...

Too bad I didn't see this comment earlier :(
I ordered some the week before last...exact same results. Doesn't tumble, and is not a convincing copper.

Reducing the friction on your bullet is going to effect velocity a little bit (a "slicker" bullet will lose a bit of velocity).
This velocity change may, or may not give you better accuracy in...

"Fools Penny" from Prismatic Powders *supposedly* tumble coats well. I have never tried it.
I read it in some other thread.
In that same thread I read that "Gold Nugget" from PBTP also tumble...
Just fyi, almost nothing is "drop-in" for the 1911. Even a drop-in beavertail will require at least minor fitting. I do think it is a great upgrade though.
Just some pics to start off your weekend.

Paid for mine when I got the email yesterday.
I'm going to stop by and see if I can pick it up in just a bit. I'll post some pics of the finished product if I get some time before taking off for...

I *really* like the Rossi 92. I've never gotten a bad example of one in 6 buys.
I have the means to purchase "better" lever actions, but I just keep going for the Rossi. Let's just keep our...

PC or Hi-Tek will work great for plinking rounds in your 10mm.
But back to your original issue...slug the bore and size appropriately. Even when using a PC or Hi-Tek coating it would be smart to...

Same here.
Some folks use hemostats, tweezers, needle nose, etc.
Forum: Boolit Lube !
I've never made the Simple Lube recipe, but yes, more beeswax will stiffen it up.
I don't know the details of what the other poster is doing, but I seat the same bullet much deeper for 9mm.

The Saeco can seat gas checks without sizing the bullet. The Lee push through dies will seat a check just fine, but not without also sizing the bullet. That was the whole point of that small...

And finally you have places like Rotometals:...

They may have been contaminated.
But, perhaps is possible you coated them quickly enough that they were still undergoing a bit of "outgassing" (contaminants in the alloy surfacing)?
I genuinely...

I suppose it depends on how meticulous you want to be, and what your end goal is.

I also run lots of mags right up to and past...

I actually use my Saeco with the gas check seater in place before PC.
In your case with having just Lee push through's to work with you will probably have to lube/size/seat then soak in some...
