i purchased speer 135 gr SHORT BBL BULLETS for load...
but i am only shooting a 39 spcl...not a 9mm not a 40 s&w , so bringing them up is just wasted bandwidth.
when you have some positive personal input to using different primers in 38 spcl , please...

bullets are the newer speer 135 short bbl hp..really big hp. they are designed for low speed...

your original post says most of the issue...they sometimes go off on the second strike.

one) the primer is not properly seated, and you are in...
so with your help, i determined i needed aprox 1.5 long with a 1" dia.
bored a flat base blind hole in a pc of alum, heated it up a bit, poured from a 10lb lee dripmaster.
when cooled machined away...
looking at online pics and descriptions i would say
1860 army with buttstock capable
the 1860 was 8", 44 and case hardened frame.
the ships cylinder may simply be a repro error.....

why do you say 1850 colt ?? all that i see are short bbl 7" or less..this is 8"
