Yeah, I'm not eager to pummel myself senseless with the brass buttplate on this hawken. Been down that road many years ago with a 50 and 54 hawken. I'm thinking of using 200-250 grain SWC's at...

I've killed numerous deer, hogs, and antelope with a 45 colt winchester trapper, along with a Gemsbok and an Impala, and a warthog while in africa. It performs superbly on game. All were killed with...

Hi guys. Just finished reading this thread and am chomping at the bit to try PP handgun boolits in my 45 hawken. Can any of you gents who have one of them and have done this, enlighten me as to what...

Great info! Thanks for putting in the work and doing it right.
Hey guys, just trying to beat the winter doldrums by doing some load development for my 45/70. I'm targeting the best accuracy at around the 2000 fps MV. I realize each rifle is its own animal, but...
Any signs of powder position sensitivity with the lower charge weights? I am experimenting at 16.5 grains right now, under a 140 grain SGK. I'm shooting them because my 7mm mold is messed up, and I...
Hi guys,
Anyone done much with 2400 in the 7/30 Waters?
I've come into a pretty good amount of it and would like to find a decent midrange, target load with it. Projectiles will be in the 120-140...

18.5 grains of 2400 under a 255 cast swc goes 1050 fps from the 7.5" bbl of my bisley blackhawk, and 1320 fps from the 16" barrel of my win 94 trapper. I loaded this bullet over 20 grains of 2400 and...

Nice elk. I'm headed to NM in the spring to have a look around and maybe do some feral hog hunting if I can find any. VERY intrigued by your primitive ML area. How's the Javelina population over...

Shot the ones I cast the other day. They seemed to shoot well enough. It was just some informal plinking from an improvised rest, at a steel target 50 yards away, but it showed promise. The LLA...

Yes, I have shot patched round balls out of it. It shoots them just fine. I just have the REAL mold and would like to try to get it shooting. I've seen where guys get sketchy blood trails with...

I just tumble lubed some with LLA. Will shoot them sometime in the next few days. From what I've read, you don't get the tar like fouling from the BP substitutes. It only seems to occur with real BP.

I was just hand lubing these bullets with crisco when I was shooting today. Anyone got a better method that isn't so messy?

What was the powder charge? Was this the 250 grainer?

Anyone in here use the LEE REAL bullets for hunting deer and hogs? Curious as to how they've worked for you and what kind of performance to expect from them. My 50 caliber CVA Hawken seems to like...

YESSIR. I'm still shooting stuff with that load. Hasn't failed me yet. I don't post on here much anymore. Had a few bad experiences with newer members and lost my desire to interact with folks. I...
What is the widest meplat bullet you have gotten to feed and cycle reliably in your 9mm semi autos? I'm loading for a S&W shield 9mm
What charge did you start with for those 158 grainers?
I'm still tipping critters over with it myself. It was used on 3 antelope this year, with excellent performance as usual.

Have you tried casting this bullet as a softnose? I'd experiment with melting different sized pure roundballs, or even pure lead buckshot for the nose, to see what you could come up with that grouped...

I wonder what we can do about getting that amended in the regs. It's idiotic.

It has been my experience that the wider the meplat on the bullet, the greater terminal effect it seems to have, when velocities are equal.
I've got the bullets you sent me all sized and lubed and loaded. Will hopefully get to shoot them this weekend once the wind dies down.
