Great news. I was wondering if they use BP in any current military munitions today.

If you have. Some zinc at hand, I would try that.
I never have done it. Never seen the need to. I spray mine down with Ballistol before putting them away..

Congratulations ! Just passing 25 years together. I wish I had met her 25 years before.

I’ve never noticed anything different with older PC loads.

You will need something as long the bore or you risk not being able to get the slug out. I’ve head of people using wooden dowels before. Before starting, run a heavy oiled patch though the bore.

Surprised you got leading from PCed boolits.

You’re right that it’s weird the inside wasn’t as good as the outside. Try it and if you are not happy call Lee. They are known for not being great on quality control, but are fast to replace items,...

So were the undersized made that way on purpose, or were they marked that way after being controlled for size? Maybe the cherry was getting worn out.

I once contacted Vihtavuori and asked for data for a cast 6.5 Swede. They said they didn’t have information for any cast boolits.

In my experience with aircraft. The old fluid was drained out and what I mentioned was adding all the new fluid to the system from the bottom. They didn’t hold that much volume. I can’t remember the...

I’ve been shooting a 45/70 lever action for years. If I were to get another 45 cal, it would be 47/90 if not 45/110. I enjoy shooting BP.
When salvaging range scrap, let the really fine stuff go. The bigger chunks yield much more lead per the amount propane to melt down and will normally have less impurities.
