Depends on what you want it for.
The quick and dirty?
Get a Smith with a 2 piece barrel……..no under lug problem…….just turn another inner sleeve
Then have someone make sleeves chambered in...
The Bisley helps with recoil…. On The big guns the rolling of a standard grip will not be pleasant
John Linebaugh built the Big Guns exclusively on Bisley Gripframes
I worked with a guy who PROBABLY shot more heavy loads than anyone here.
You can’t badazz the recoil
And it does build up damage as the day goes on.
Not permanently……..but your ability to shoot...

I’m finishing a 480 RedHawk
Going to cut it for moon clips and use 284 brass blown out.

I never likes the 410…….grew up on a 20 ga. And the 410 were clunky
And I’m trying to get brass shot shells for 10 to 28 ga.
But I just got a break open 44(410) from around 1905…… I AM...

10MM is about a 357
10MM Mag is about 41 mag
I’m reaming out my 10MM single six for 10MM Mag
As you folks with S&W 610 owners can do. Or buy a 41……..

Reminds me of the old Barnes 6.5QT......on a 264WM case I believe.......200 gr,2800 FPS and a 6 1/2” twist.
The 226QT .....125gr,2800 FPS and a 5 1/2” twist......257 Roberts case.
I think those...

They are a lot of fun. Shorter barrels are nice for long range too
I have a 475 and like it. Gut a 45 Redhawk and a 480 Super Redhawk cylinder. But I like the 45 so I have to get another Redhawk to do the trade!!!!

To the OP with the reamed cylinder.
A shorter length of rifling spins the shot less.
So......make a paradox barrel. Team out the barrel and leave an inch of rifling at the end....
Or just...

Tin Sides.
First year the sides were Stainless.....carbon steel after that.
Take a 4 banger out of an Anglia Ford and they bolt right in.
Add 4 cylinders and you had your V-12 Lincoln I...
I rechambered a NM 357 cylinder to 45 colt
turned the OD to just fit the window.
So Over sized cylinder.
Schofield would have been a great choice.
What are the dimensions of the cylinder in comparison to other DAs?
Its a starting point.
Like a 32 Super
In a Star 380 with a locking breach might be easier to dial in.
44MAN;
I see what you mean. If you don't try. You never will.
Doing it is the only way.
Some folks are only happy if they can do it NOW.
Thinking back. The folks we cut the barrels off...
Don't know about a Camel Lloyd.....
But I'd walk a mile for good fried bread dough.
What I meant with balance is that it's hard to learn to shoot with a 10" barrel.
5 1/2 to 6" is a nicer balance than a 7 1/2.
Moat hunters I know use 7 1/2", but they aren't new to six-guns...

I always went for .002-.003.
I'd rather make a new barrel. Lining up the sights can be a bear. Lol

I like that carbide has the correct radius when using pitch specific inserts.
Fast or slow, carbide I'd fine.
And cobalt is harder than most HSS, except maybe T-15.
CBN wheels are the...
Has more to do with balance.
Had to agree with the shop owner where I worked.
Worked for me. Lol
